Gone to Kleinfels nothing, Rk bridal nada, davidsbridal no luck, smaller lil bridal stores zip! *sigh* My dads paying for my dress and he gave me a $10,000 budget (which is way more than enough) & I havent found anything as yet

Re: Dress Vent
You had a $10,000 budget and went to Kleinfelds and found nothing??? Have you tried on a bunch of different kinds of dresses? I would go back to Kleinfelds again...they have such an insane amount of dresses...maybe just try something different?

Have you tried bridal reflections in Carle place? They have a lot of dresses too! Also, the Wedding Salon in Manhasset. I consider them like a bridal reflections jr.

I would start over. Try different styles, things you didn't think you would like.
Are you telling the people you have a 10k budget. Try telling them it's less and they'll probably bring out things they didn't the first time. I had a similar issue my budget was half of yours and they would only bring out dresses right around that number or just a little but higher. I would go back telling them it was less adn they would bring out all different dresses.

Re: Dress Vent
Are there particular designers you like? I would just go on designer websites and flip through the dresses. To be honest, this is how I found my dress - I fell in love with it on the designer's website. When I went into bridal salons with just 'ideas' or sample pictures, they never really understood what I wanted and I found myself just getting frustrated - but once I found the perfect dress myself it worked out.
Good luck!!

This is a good idea. Tell them your budget is $5000-7000 and see what they bring out. It will be different dresses probs!

I think it's not that you're finding nothing--you are probably just getting more and more frustrated every time you think about it. I know that when I am super stressed, the answers just don't come easy AT ALL. Maybe relax, try to just go for fun, and see what happens!

Re: Dress Vent
I agree. I would start fresh. When you go do you bring in pictures of dresses that you like?
I tried on about 50 dresses before I found mine and went to about 6 different salons.

Re: Dress Vent
The one thing I would suggest is keep an open mind to EVERYTHING. Really listen to your consultants and just try on everything from beaded to lace to trumpet to aline. I went it close minded bc I thought I knew what I wanted, and ended up with the opposite. With a really generous budget like yours, I would go back to Kleinfelds since they have one of the biggest selections and start over.

Re: Dress Vent
I agree with telling them your budget is lower. Say like 5k. Cause if you tell them 10k then they will bring you all dresses around that price point and you may be missing beautiful dresses that are below that. If I was making commission I wouldn't bring you a 3k dress if you told me you would spend 10k. lol. JMO.

Ditto. Listen to the salesladies, too! If they have a different style that they think you'd like, try it, even if you hate it on the rack! Just keep an open mind. And if you're really stuck, you could have a dress made special for you!

Re: Dress Vent
Try Bridal Reflections in Massapequa - that's where I got my dress. Also, Macy's in Herald Square had a great selection. Good luck!!

Re: Dress Vent
I also tried Macys...nothing
I thought I wanted a ball gown after trying those styles I realized that wasnt for me.
Im getting married in Miami on a crusie. I want a dress that isnt 1. too heavy/hot 2. expensive, Ill only be wearing the dress for 2/3hrs. (ceremony, pics & 1hr cocktail reception) I really dont think my dress should be over $1,500 (less than $1,000 if possible) bcuz I wont be wearing it that long.
Im not a big fan of lace but I dont want a super plain dress either.
Thanks for you help Ladies

Why don't you check out Maggie's Destination line? They sound a lot like what you're looking for and they'd be perfect for a wedding in Miami! Also, Demetrios has a destination line, too! Look online and clip some photos you like then go and try on similar styles. The first time I went, I pulled every different style imaginable and then was able to narrow it down from there. GL! ETA: Links!
Do you want a 'wedding' dress or something less formal?
I would check into pronovias and there is a store in hewlett around the block from broadway called Menekshi (something like that, spelling could be off) which has amazing dresses. They aren't actual wedding dresses but they are very elaborate and beautiful.
