I just had my first fitting of a custom made dress and was surprised that the dressmaker told me I''d have to go on my own to buy a crinoline petticoat for the dress.
Have most of you had this experience...or does the filler stuff come w/the dress you buy?

dress question....
My skirt is a full tulle skirt, but I need a full slip to go underneath it to make it complete. This does not come with my dress - in fact, it was an additional $90.00...is that what you mean? Seems everything is an extra. I also have to pay for the bustle...

dresses & petticoats - oh and bridesmaids LONG sorry ;)
I had to buy a petticoat as well, but I was able to buy it from the shop I bought the dress at. I think that is typical (although aggravating!).
In terms of the bridesmaids, there have been posts about difficult ones. I think many of us can relate to the single friends who are too busy (I certainly can!). I've just learned not to have high expectations of how they would help, and to instead simply feel grateful they will be standing beside me on the day of.

Thanks for your responses and support. Valenia (pretty name by the way) you're right this board has been oh my gosh I can't even say how helpful during this whole wedding process.
I really really don't think I could've done it without all of the great ppl and their advice postings here on this site.
Well if I could've done it it surely wouldn't have been as good.
