Okay so I was wondering does it matter or are their 'rules' to the color of the FMIL and MOB dresses in regards to the BM dresses???? are they supposed to match??? should they be in the same color family(no right.....not both the same color )

The only 'rule' I have heard is that the MOB gets to pick her color first.

MOB picks her dress first and the MOG should choose a flattering color to hers... Like something that compliments it...
And IMO I think it looks nice to keep them in a SIMILAR color to the girls... NOT the exact same colors but in the same family of colors or at least something that matches...
I have no idea if thats a rule, but its something I think looks nice...

I would think: 1- no white 2- colors that compliment the BM dresses well 3- not the same color as BM dresses 4- ive also heard MOB picks dress first

Really do whatever you want. I just told the mothers that they couldn't wear red or and shade of white, ivory, champange.
MOB had sliver and MOG had blue and the pics looked fine.....

Same here. My girls are wearing red, so I told them no red, and obviously no white. My mother I think is going to wear like a bronze color, and FMIL wants to wear a shade of green.

i have heard different stuff, My fmil was asking me about this I told her to get what ever she wants except Tan , thats what my mom wants!

The MOG has two dresses already and my mom has yet to go shopping with me for hers. MOG did offer to change it depending on what my mom is wearing but I don't think it's courteous to make her wait until the last minute because my mother doesn't want to shop for hers yet.

my Mother picked her color first! My FMIL knew the color my mom picked but decided she wanted the same color too!!!
I think they should have 2 different color dresses! not white and not the color of the BM dresses!
