dresses for plus size bridesmaids :-/

dresses for plus size bridesmaids :-/

I need some ideas for dresses that would look good on my bridesmaids who are plus size.

The wedding is a summertime, afternoon wedding.

I prefer long dresses, but it's not a must.

Also, my gown has some taupe / caramel color in it (a very tiny bit) so i was leaning towards those colors for the bridesmaids as well (also not a must).

EDITED changed wording from 'overweight' to 'plus size' ... didn't mean to offend anyone with my wording ... sorry

i have all different size BM's... and some of them had to order dresses at a premiuim for larger sizes. They all loved the dress I chose cause big or small it has rouching (sp?) in the mid-section area and hides alot!

I would go to davids bridal to look first b/c they have all sizes and they can get a feel of what styles are flattering for them and go from there...

I would go with a dress with ruching inthe middle. It hides the belly.

This is mine:

But I also considered this one:

My girls liked the first one better b/c they said it would be most flattering on everyone

My girls were sizes: 10, 18, 18 & 24 and this dress looked great on all of them! It had chiffon which I knew I wanted.

Check out Mori Lee. They don't have additional charges for plus size or extra length and they always come with a shawl.

IMO.... I think it would be more polite to refer to your BM as 'Plus -sized' not overweight.

Overweight just sounds..... not nice.

There was 1 episode of Fair Wedding or some David Tutera show that had a bridal party with about 3 overweight bridesmaids, They were wearing DARK colored dresses with lace sleeves. Also, they had the option of wearing a thing type of shawl with it. They looked absolutely stunning!

I have to say that I agree. I do NOT want to start drama, and I have no intents of attacking the original poster-- I totally get sometimes things are just worded the way that they are.

But for instance:

My MOH & I were discussing different dress types, and she had suggested 'i think this style looks good on plus sizes' or something along those lines. And I was TOTALLY fine w/ it, b/c I am clearly a 'plus size'-- I am completely fine w/ sharing what size I wear.

But if she had said 'i think this style looks good on overweight girls,' i would've been
