Wow ... tough one! I know how you feel about the sickness ... I've got 3 flights to endure to get to Hawaii ... I'm going to take a valium & hope to pass out! In November, I'd say go cold ... Vermont, Maine or Canada, if you ski ... or a spa vacation @ a great resort. There are some really good ones out there. I saved a New York Mag. with Top 10 vacation sites, I'll see if there's any good ones driving distance!
Good luck!

What about Montreal? It's only about a 5 hour drive from NY.

Re: Driving to my Honeymooon :)
Definitely consider the Poconos. I have some friends that went there just for a vacation and they said that it would be perfect for a honeymoon. There are some great couples only resorts there. And you'll probably save a whole lot of money too!

I also know this great bed and breakfast in Windham, NY. It's right by a bunch of ski resorts. There's also horseback riding and snowmobiling and antiquing, if you're into that kind of stuff. It's actually where my FI proposed. It is so romantic there. We're hoping to go back on the one year anniversary of our engagement. Here's the link to the website.: www.albergousa.com

Re: Driving to my Honeymooon :)
I vote for Mohonk Mountain House, my fiance and I spent a weekend there a few weeks ago. We went hiking and rowing and spent romantic evenings by the fire. Many rooms have great views and fireplaces, there is also a spa on the premises and the dinners (which are included in the price) are very good. It can be pricey but worth it in my opinion! Let me know if you want more info. www.mohonk.com
Also, Boston is a beautiful, fun city any time of year. I just got engaged there last weekend
Lake George is awesome in the summer, but there's not too much going on in November (I'm assuming your getting married in November as your profile says).

Re: Driving to my Honeymooon :)
it is a little far, but something different would be a mountain house in North Carolina (by Ashville and the smokey mountains). It is just incredible. Did you ever see the movie the Last of the Mohicans? Much fo the outdoor scenes with the beautiful cliffs were filmed down there. We go there once a year to a little cottage and that is where we are taking our honeymoon (big trip to Europe will be our 1st year anniversary -- when we have some money again! ). FM me if you would like more info! Good luck!
