I dont think there are **issues** I think that people just expect SO much and really they are just responsible for what is in your contract.. make sureyou have everything you want in your contract and you'll be fine.
i dsagree with this comment.
giving me a print of almost every dessert offered in my cocktail hour and than leaving so many key shots unprinted on the negative cd - i consider an issue.
yes you have to read your contract - VERY CAREFULLY. but honestly - if your disapointed with something - you paid these people to do a service - make sure you are happy with what you get.
Yea, I get your point, but then again they took over 2k pics on my wedding day.. it would be ridiculous for them to print all of them when many are out of focus or doubles etc. They realized they should be giving the cds out before the 'end of job' and changed there policy so that now you can get it right away if it is in your contract. I don't see what else they could have done to fix the issue. I would have been more upset if they only took the garunteed number of pics and missed something.
i am very glad that you were happy with your wedding pics. i am not and it hurts me that the memories i have from that day are not what they were presented to be. i have no kiss of us @ the altar - i have no pics of certain family members that were on my please make sure you get this person list - i can go on and on about my disapointments.
some of my shots are absolutely stunning - but there is an element missing that used to be in their work.
i agree - they have been trying to 'fix' any issues i have - but there will never again be a november 11, 2006. there isnt much that can be done when somethings just arent there.
Well then those are separate issues that you have the right to be upset about... I was only speaking about the negative cd that everyone is making a huge deal out of.
they gave me my negative CD the day after i asked for it - they didnt give me a hard time with that @ all.

I feel that there are A LOT of issues with DUET. Beginning with the CD issue, to the photographers (they project their best photographers' photos), to the video issues...I can go on and on.
Lets just say that I thought I was going to have a totally different experience with them.
Jen - you're like one of the very few brides on here that had EVERY SINGLE SHOT that was just amazing...unfortunately thats not the same for some of us and some of us are not happy with the 'after the wedding' process.

The negative CD is great and I am really glad I have it. But that is not the point of this thread. It is just one of the comments that was made.
LIW.com is here so that everyone can learn from other brides about their experiences. Not every bride is going to be 100% happy but we are here to help each other so future brides can avoid our pitfalls.

Not true.. I posted the really great ones but all 800 of them arent that spectacular.. they are wedding pics that are just as nice as everyone elses.
I dunno. I just think that after being on this site everyone has these unrealistic expectations that EVERY pic is going to be worthy of a magazine cover because the brides post the BEST out of many many pics and that leads to dissapointment. After seeing so many fantastic pics over and over it is hard NOT to be dissapointed with your proofs even if they are awesome.
A non LIW bride friend of mine used them recently and her pics were just as good as mine and she had a team that I had never heard of. I'm sure you guys had valid issues with them.. but for the 07ers I think they just need to be clear with their wishes(email everything so you have a record) and watch your contract.
I also think since we (06ers) booked so long ago.. they have grown SO much that it is impossible to give everyone all the 'extras' they once did and Im sure Eric doesnt remember every single meeting. Thats why the contract is so important.

WELL I beat any complaint by far.... my photographers and videographer completely MISSED my father's speech! They printed out 723 pictures... out of those I have 5, yes 5 of my mother. in three of them she is making ridiculous faces. There are about 30 of my frickin MIL. I go on the CD and there are DOZENS of great pictures of me and my mom. I wonder who picks what gets printed, because they printed some really ridiculous photos. At times, I look at my pictures and start screaming ZOOM IN!!! ALl our posed pictures with our family and BP have ceilings, floors, circuit boxes, etc in the background.... I am really disappointed and have been discussing this with them, which I have to say they have been great about. 2K pictures is one thing, but I'd rather have quality than quantity. I had over 2K in pictures, I was expecting to have more than just 7 to choose from for thank yous. My brother and sister both got married this year. I have to say about 90% of their pictures (from other companies) were album worthy... I'm having trouble picking 60. JMO and experience

For those who havent pciked pics yet, i asked if they had any more of certain shots, and they did, and they gave them to me. i know it is a pain to think of, but they do try to please.

I'm not worried about Duet at all. I was a little nervous when I got my 684 printed proofs and saw that some shots that I was hoping to get were not there, but since looking through my 3 photo cd's (negatives) of 3,099 pictures that were taken throughout the day I am 100% satisfied!!!
I can't wait to pick my album pics and see the result. We just ordered our video, so we have that to look forward to as well.

Agree. I didn't mention it and I was so overwhelmed and we didn't realize it until afterwards but there are hardly any posed pictures of me wearing my gown with or without DH. I would have gladly left the reception if I could have had some of those great bridal shots I saw when I chose them.
