Duet or Velvet??? RP from BHB

Help me out ladies. The packages are similar in price that I picked out. Tell me what you think about the quality, service, etc about the two companies. I met with Duet today and the only thing that bothers me is that I had a hard time understanding Eric - the owner. I just want to make sure my requests are met. I know people will be biased depending on who they booked...but please be honest! TIA

I vote Duet. Don't worry about not understanding Eric - the photogs are fine!
I feel like Duet has more good reviews on here (and I saw an album and video firsthand - my girlfriend used them) - beautiful!!!!!

I feel like Velvet is getting more recommendations from brides who haven't even used them yet.... but then again CaMacho's pics are great!

I totally agree. I think CaMacho's pics are famous on here and its totally making Velvet and CLM get tons of business, which is great, but I want to know if mine are going to come out as good. I was really impressed with Duet, their photos, studio and professionalism were top notch (and they even gave me a better pkg then velvet!)

thats why i booked with duet!! the package was better!!

A BIG differences it that Velvet using real film to shoot their pictures, which is better quality than digital pictures, which is what Duet uses. They can still fix-up film pictures if this concerns you. Good luck!

Can you let me know what you think of this pkg:
2 photographers
1 montage album 11x14 with 30 pages
2 - 5x7 parents albums with 24 pics each
1 - 16x20 portrait
2 - 8x10's
8 - 5x7's (for BP)
All proofs on hi-res CD and pics in box min 600 proofs. 10 hours of photography

1 videographer for 10 hours
full editing with photo montage, prep, ceremony, reception and recap
3 edited dvds with 5 chapters
all raw footage

This pkg was $5000

E-shoot is extra but you get 150 proofs on hi-res cd, and a 20x24 portrait and we can go anywhere for $300.

What do you think? Is there anything thats missing????

you should go and post in 07. This bride who just got married had a very bad experience with duet so find out who she had so you don't get the same person because her pics do not look perfessional.

I saw them! and i think she came out beautiful! with any photographer, there are going to be some pics you just don't like..but thats why they take sooo many pics..so you can dump some! I think you are your own critic anyway

That is a great package...i know i signed with Duet immediately and got a few extras including the e-shoot and im paying 5300. If you want more info FM me. I personally didn't like Velvet's video, it looked like a family member too it. Also their larger digital pics in the albums were not clear. If you pay close attention to pics you will easily notice it. Some notice some don't.

I would go with Duet. Eric can be hard to understand at first but he is super nice and he is easy to understand if you give him time. Plus he is so easy to work with and very agreable to everything.
