Duet Photo Question
I am sorry if this has been asked, just having trouble finding the post.I am gathering names of prospective photographers (and videographers), and though I vowed I was going to use Patken, I have seen Duet's work on this site, and was VERY impressed, so I will check them out too.
My question is, do they only do digital photos? I thought I had seen someone post that. I want regular film photos b/c I have heard (and seen) that digital photos fade over time.
Also, do they give all the proofs? What about negatives?
TIA!!

Re: Duet Photo Question
They told me they do film if requested but this is going back several months. They will include a CD with all the proofs if done in digital but I am not sure about negatives. One thing I loved about Duet is that Patken copyrights there negatives so you 'have' to go back to them for reprints. Duet does not do this so you can have them done anywhere.I was also fixed on Patken until I saw Duet and how much I could get for less money. Plus, I haven't heard anything about the digitals fading? I have only heard good things about them.

Re: Duet Photo Question
My wedding was a little over a year ago and i asked them about the digital and i think they said they use it once in a while but don't really like it. I don't know about now. The best thing would be to ask them and tell them what you want.I know you get all the proofs and you can ask for the negatives too.

Re: Duet Photo Question
I met with them last month. They do both digital and film. You get all your proofs and negatives and the cd from your digital shots. IMO, they ahve a much different style than patken...depends on what you are looking for in photograpy.

Re: Duet Photo Question
I booked them, and if I remember correctly, they either only shoot film, or the vast majority is film. I don't really remember them talking about digital pictures at all.

Re: Duet Photo Question
I booked them as well, and we'll have 1/2 film and 1/2 digital. I loved Patken's work, but Duet fit our budget a little better.

Re: Duet Photo Question
They prefer to shoot film -- I had requested digital, primarily because I wanted a CD of the images, but they steered me away from it and promised that they could convert the film to digital images regardless. I wanted the higher quality images, so went along. Haven't seen yet how this all worked out, but will let you know once I see my proofs.
