Duet Photography (Jay) or Imagine Studios?

I've narrowed my photographer search to Imagine Studios and Duet Photography (with Jay), and have to decide by tomorrow!! I think I like Imagine a little better, but they both seem very talented. Duet's package is a little cheaper and gives a little more. One other important thing is that Duet is allowing me to have my engagement shoot anywhere ( I might do Central Park), whereas Imagine only is permitting it near their premises out in Long Island. Duet's package also includes 2 extra hours of shooting time on the wedding day, among a few other extras.

Have any of you considered both these photographers? What helped in your final decision? Thanks!!

DUET bride here! They are extremely talented and I couldn't ask for anything more in terms of package greatness!

Ahh! It's 50/50! I guess both photographers are really good for it to be so split. I really like the artistic effects Lia does with highlighting one color etc but one thing my fiance pointed out was that all Lia's shots seemed posed, but Jay's shots seem to have more of a mix between natural (photojournalistic) and artistic. Maybe I can print some of the pics that Lia has with the artistic effects, and see if his team will do these with some of the shots?

Also, Lia is holding the date for me til Fri so I have a few more days. So would love any more feedback anyone has! Thanks so much girls!

really? One thing we LOVED about her was that things didnt seem posed at all..we thought everything was really natural...thats specifically why we chose her. I had looked online and felt she was the most 'unposed' lol

IMAGINE!!! HANDS DOWN!!!! CHECK OUT MY PROOFS!!! That's only 1/10th of what we got!!! The others are AWESOME too!!!

I went with Duet. I loved Jay's pictures !!! In May I took Epics with him in central park. He was great- over 150 pics !! Made us feel so comfortable .. Pics are in my album HTH

So this is what we decided to do, tell me if you think this is crazy. We decided to go with Imagine (Lia) for our wedding day and Duet (Jay) for the engagement shoot. This is also the most exp option since Lia was more exp to begin with.

On Monday, I had tagged along with a friend and her fiance to meet with Jay, and also got a price quote. My fiance and I really liked Lia's style effects but wanted an engagement shoot in Central Park. Also, Duet had a better value package. So I was planning to meet with Jay with printouts of some of Lia's photos with the stylistic effects to see if he could/would do these too. But Duet wouldn't let my fiance and I meet with him, saying the Mon meeting was an exception to their comp policy and that they can do 'everything' and 'any style.' Jay can only meet with me after I book him and a mo before my wedding (???). I'm like there are certain questions we want to ask to det if I even want to book him. I went back and forth with them but they refused, promising everything but only if I book. So I was kind of turned off by this exchange and helped me pick Lia, but we still did want a Central Park engagement shoot and Lia only does e-pics near her house.
