When I was looking, Patken was more expensive, but that was a year and a half ago. Yes, they both do video.

I don't know who is more expensive because I did not check out Duet, however I thought Patken was reasonably priced. I booked them for both photo and video.

I met with Patken just a few weeks ago. FH and I really like the person we met with and the whole process of how they do a test shoot to see which one of their photographers will work best with you. They do do video. Some close friends of mine used them and we REALLY happy, both with end result and price. Check them out, you have nothing to lose. Not sure if we'll book, but they are definitely one of our 'finalists'!

I think ALL of the brides on this site's pics who were taken by Patken or Duet came out absolutely beautiful, JMO!
And to actually answer the original post-- both do video and I hear that Duet is great for the budget and a lot of their work I have seen looks great... I have only seen Patken's pics-- not actually priced them so I can't help you there-- but the pics are very pretty and they do real nice work.
Good luck honey! HTH

I met with both and booked with Duet. Patken was more expensive for photo and video than Duet and I was getting much less with Patkens package.
As for their pictures Patken has a different style. They can take very provacative photos if you want that. They are very creative in what poses and styles to put you in. If they are taking photo's that dont look like that I think Duet and Patken are the same quality work.
Angelica glass does great work just pricey. She was more expensive for just photo then Patken and Duet. She is very different with her Albums.

I only check out Silverfox and Patken and chose Patken out of those two. I also like Duet pics but when I went to Patken I knew I wanted to use them.
I have booked Patken for pictures and video. My future sister-in-law used them and they were very pleased. Actually, I love her album. They are a very personable company. They have been really good with everything so far with me. We went for our E-pics and they assigned us a photographer and after meeting with her, I did not feel 100% and they totally let me pick my own photographer and I met with him last night and absolutely love him. Like I said, they have been great so far.
HTH..

Great, thanks! I think I will book an appointment with both of them and decide from there. If I don't choose Duet or Patken I will probably go with Lasting Impressions in the Bronx.

Agreed but..... They will also cost double the price.
Am I the only one who can't afford these prices?!?!

3600 is alot for a photographer?? i'd rather spend the money on that than ridiculous prices on flowers or a dj or anything like that. those are just memories, these are memories on hand for a lifetime. you dont wanna go cheap on photography. at least thats the way i am.

Patken was more expensive, and something about their pictures didn;t work for me. I fell in love with duet!
But to each their own, thats why thier are some many different vendors and styles out there.

Re: Duet v Padken
Duet no longer has my date available and Patken can't give me an appointment until the end of October ...so I'm going with Lasting Impressions. A friend of mine used them and she loved them and the owner Frank is great ...their pictures are really great also.

Everyone has budgets they have to work within! For some $3600 might be a lot.
