I teach in a high school in Nassau county.

Ninth period today I go to check my mailbox and see a piece of paper (memo, white paper) put in there upside down so I turn it over and see...

OMG.... so I stop reading so as not to see the date.

DUH, that's ME!!!!! Who's the DOPE that put an invite for my SURPRISE shower in MY MAILBOX

Don't get me wrong I'm grateful but I quickly stopped in to about 5 other teachers to tell them to tell whomever was in charge of notices (I never want to know) that I didn't see the date but there was one in my box.

DUUUUUUUUUUUHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!

ETA: I spoke with the woman who is throwing it for me and she said someone had to have DELIBERATELY put it in my box to ruin the surprise for me. She put them in the mailboxes and made sure to skip mine

How sad, pathetic and childish is that? Why would someone want to steal another person's joy like that?

Last laugh is on them because I didn't see the date.

Got to feel sorry for such pathetic people with nothing better to do with their time.

Well, at least you prevented yourself from ruining the surprise. So the last laugh is on them.

But that is awfully nice of your coworkers to throw a shower for you.

Im lucky if anyone at my dead end job even acknowledges my wedding!

As horrible as this sounds I am not surprised by the teachers actions. Some people just become children when they work with them. Check out my post for the private bridezilla moment- teachers I work with too!

Wow - some miserable person probably did that. People can just be soooo awful.

At least your surprise is not totally ruined since you don't know the date
