Do you have to have your veil over your face in the church when you walk down the aisle? Is there anyone who didnt/isnt doing it this way?

Re: Dumb ??
that is called a blusher when you have it over your face. I probably won't be doing that.

Re: Dumb ??
I am wearing a mantilla, so it will not be over my face, just pinned back over my hair.

Re: Dumb ??
I am not doing it, b/c I feel like I am suffocating with it over my face. Crazy, I know, but I can't stand it. I love the look, but know I wouldn't be able to handle it

I don't plan to wear the blusher either. I'd rather walk down the aisle with nothing in my face that I have to look through. It's one tradition I'm not too crazy about. Although it does look beautiful.

Re: Dumb ??
absolutely not necessary at all. I will NOT have anything over my face when I walk down the aisle.
Originally I didn't want a veil at all - I hate what it symbolizes, especially having your face covered - but I let my mom talk me into it, and I do admit that I look more 'bridal' with the veil - but definitely NOTHING over my face!
A veil isn't necessary if you don't want one, and a blusher definitely isn't necessary if you don't want one. It's your wedding - wear what you want!

Re: Dumb ??
i'm wearing the blusher - my veil is very sheer and doesn't have any embellishments, so it looks good over my face

Re: Dumb ??
not sure yet, but I think I might just cause it's traditional. but my veil doesn't actually have a blusher, it's a circular veil -- so it's just one piece of tewl with a comb in the middle. so it had a lighter look to it. we'll see

Re: Dumb ??
i wasn't planning on it, but the lady started talking about my dad lifting it before he gives me away and i could see him getting all teary (he was when he saw me in the dress anyway though), and then they threw a blusher in for free so i may do it. if it means that much to my dad i will - he was just too cute. =0)

Re: Dumb ??
I did because I liked the traditional look of it but I remember a bunch of girls on here saying they weren't doing it. You don't have to if you don't want to.

I am not sure about wearing it over my face either.
My veil is two layers and I could do it, but I don't know if I want that over my face.

Re: Dumb ??
I am going to wear it down the aisle. I think the tradition is a little archaic, but kind of like the idea of my dad lifting it when we get to the end.
