DYI invites

For those of you who have done it can you please post your DYI invites? I am specifically looking for pocketfolds.

Or if you have them in your album (cuz posting the pic can suck sometimes) and it's in ur album just let me know!

i only have a pic of the invite, dont have pics of the inserts, i think i do on my other comp. I also put the invites in a box instead of an envelope. The box had 2 layers of cardstock and had calligraphy done on top layer and then had a big ribbon wrapped around the box.

The brown cardstock was also a lot shinier than looks in the pic,it was stardream cardstock

Re: DYI invites

I have my DIY invite in my album. I ordered all the supplies and printed them myself. I think I want to add a rhinestone to my graphic and haven't completed the tags but they are completed for the most part. Let me know if you have questions. Glad to help!

Espo - Where did you get your rhinestones from?

I'm looking to only buy 2 dozen - so a wholesale place that sells 20 dozen minimum won't work for me.

But if you have any helpful info - please FM me!!!

i bought it from a place called Jablonex. They are a wholesale place. I bought 150 of them. They were real nice though and they might just sell you 2 dozen

Re: DYI invites

all of your invites look so amazing!

So.. my next question.

I am looking to buy samples to see if i can realistically make pocketfold invites. So when i go onto the paper websites i am getting the metallic pocketfold.. ok check.

But then in regards to all of the other paper i'm clueless.
On some websites it calls backing paper well.. backing paper, check.
But what type of paper do i use in regards to the actual invite, rsvp card, accomidations etc?

and what sizes?! lol. i'm looking for my pocketfold to be 5x7

I used metallic paper for the pocketfolds, backing paper as well as the print paper. You have to becareful when you use metallica paper to print on. You need a laser jet to do that.
I made my own pocketfolds with precut paper. It's really easy when it's the exact size you need, just fold and apply glue.

What exactly am i glueing.

Yes.. i'm a DYI retard apparently lol

Re: DYI invites

When you fold your pocketfold to create the pocket you have to secure it in place. You can either use glue or double sided tape. I find glue holds better for the pocketfold. I used double sided tape to mount the backing and printed invite to the pocketfold.

You don't really need a template but you should have an idea of size. You can either do a simple sketch with dimensions or I have one in my album. Here you go! The yellow (bottom of image) is where I applied the glue strip.

Just make sure you measure before you cut or fold.
