Re: DYI Invites ?

I'd go to Michael's and look at their BRIDES invite kits. I'm using the Damask kit and it's actually come out REALLY nice. There's some pics in my albums.

to be honest.. I am way behind.. I have soo many ideas, vendors and what I want ... and then what I can afford. I am trying to cut cost and I figure DYI will take time so I should start soon right?

Let me know if you find any good ideas or websites?
TIA

hi girls! I dont think ur behind on invites, we still have time - don't stress....I started mine bc I wanted to see if I could actually do it or if I'd have to find extra $$ in the budget to hire a professional.

I posted this the other day...pix in my album
I ordered all my samples from paper and more.com and the envelopes from paper presentation . Two other good sites are cards and pockets and mountain cow . I didn't order from those 2, but my friend did and loved the quality of the paper from there.

For adhesives, I found this scrapbooking adhesive which was awesome and if you place the paper wrong, you can easily move it.

Also, dafont.com is awesome for getting free fonts!

Your DIY invites look NOTHING like DIY invites! LOL! Great job!!! How did you manage to do it on your own?? I just have a HP laptop & printer at home...do I need anything special??

Don't start too soon. What if your ceremony time changes or something? You don't want to have to scrap all the hard work you've done for something so silly. I just started my invites about a month ago so I could do them at my leisure and I'm about 60% finished. With the invite kits, it took me one day to print everything out, but I have to be a PITA and jazz them up. We got Martha Stewart flocking powder, glue, and paint brushes and we're adding the powder to the damask design to give it that 3-D look and soft velvety feel.

thanks! no, you don't need anything special...i did everything on word and printed on an inkjet printer. Just browse around on some invitation websites to get an idea of what you like and you should be able to do most of it on word
