for those who watched greys anatomy this week the dying mom told her daughter to just have one glass of champagne on her wedding day and then drink water...anyone planning on doing this? It seems like some pretty good advice.

I don't watch that show but I agree with her. the very last thing you want to do is get drunk at your wedding. you can drink every other day after that, you won't want to miss a THING!
I had 1 drink, that was it.

I think a couple of cockails is fine as long as you no your limit. No one wants to end up over a toilet on there wedding day. P.S. May I also suggest a clear cocktail for the nightso if it spills you wont stain your dress. That goes for the groom too.

Re: dying moms advice on greys anatomy
I am a light weight drinker so I plan on having just a couple of sips of champagne for the toast. Then maybe a glass of white wine with dinner. Definitely NOT getting drunk for my wedding! After all this time and money I want to remember every single second. I figure that I can always drink more on our HM and get carried away with FH

The episode was sad!
I thought of that advice for mine as well
I think its a good idea, because even if you think you have a high limit before getting 'drunk' there is always the nerve and dehydration factor - which can make some girls (esp lighter ones) faint!

LMAO if I am still lucid after half a drinking glass of vodka and drank at least two glasses of champagne at home before leaving for the prom, nope. I can handle a few glasses of champagne. If I were a lightweight maybe I'd just have 1 drink. People really need to know their own limits.

Re: dying moms advice on greys anatomy
I'll probably just have a sip of the champagne toast, and even that will probably get me dizzy. I'm not a drinker and besides I want to remember our special day. I went to a wedding a couple of months ago and the groom was so drunk that the next day he asked his wife how he got home........must've been some honeymoon

Re: dying moms advice on greys anatomy
yeah- thats definitely good advice! i'm not a big drinker, so i was fine- but a friend of mine was a BM in a wedding where the groom got really drunk, and wasn't even around to say goodbye to evreybody at the end of the night, becaue he was ni the bathroom throwing up!!! i would have been PISSED!!! definitely know your limits- its the one day you want to remember!

that's terrible to have people remember your attitude instead of your reception and how beautiful it must've been

Re: dying moms advice on greys anatomy
Honestly, I had a few sips of the champagne, and a few sips of wine throughout the night - I mostly drank water because I was so thirsty from dancing all night!
