E-Bay

E-Bay

What an awesome site. I was very leery about buying my veil on-line without seeing it first. Well let me tell you, I just got mine delivered a few minutes ago and it's a superb, wonderfully made wedding veil very nicely pacakaged. The quality was much BETTER than some of the ones I saw in the bridal salons. The seller was Ebol2001 if anyone's interested. EXCELLENT price for a cathedral length and 2 tier detachable one.

Re: E-Bay

I actually just had a bad experience with a seller from e-bay.

I just purchased Tiffany money clips for my groomsmen. I brought one to the Tiffany store and verified that they were fake!
I was very disappointed because the seller described his items as being authentic. Liar!

I returned everything and the seller only refunded the cost not the shipping. He said he would look into refunding the shipping but I doubt I will get anything back.

I gave him neutral feedback because he insisted he didn't know they were fake.
Turns out, he gave me negative feedback!

Stay away from this seller, he's evil and a con artist. < jasonfayaxa >

Actually, its wierd...I got an email today saying my E-bay account has been suspended and that I have to update some information. I have paid for and received all of the items that I have bid on, so I don't know what the deal is. Anyone else have this happen to them?

I am so sorry that this happened to you. Please know that Tiffany items are only sold at Tiffany & Co. stores. Tiffany recently won a huge lawsuit against eBay because of counterfeit merchandise. No merchandise on there is guaranteed to be real and authentication is difficult and usually painful for the buyer. Again, sorry...it's better to spend the extra cash and buy it from the source directly (this case Tiffany).

make sure it IS ebay that sent the email. there are a lot of email scams going around from frauds trying to get your bank account info!

Be VERY careful..do not give out your info via an email. There was just a piece on the Today show about email scams and how they try to get your personal info. I would verify with Ebay that the email came from them and ask why it was suspended before telling them anything.

don't click on anything on the email! A coworker of mine keeps getting emails like that. They are not true. Go on to your accoutn manually, not through the email, and it will tell you if you need to update anything.

Re: E-Bay

And here's inf on Tiffany & Co.'s recent win against an eBay counterfeiter:

TIFFANY & CO. OBTAINS $600,000 JUDGMENT AGAINST COUNTERFEITER

New York, November 4, 2004 - Tiffany & Co (NYSE- TIF) announced today the entry of a Final Judgment by Consent against Katz Imports, Inc., and its principals, Todd Katz, Howard Katz and Stanley Katz (jointly 'Katz'). The Judgment makes permanent the preliminary injunction previously entered against Katz by the Federal District Court in Philadelphia enjoining them from selling counterfeit TIFFANY merchandise.

The Final Judgment finds that the Katz defendants 'have engaged in fraudulent acts which directly led to willful and malicious injury to plaintiffs famous ...trademarks TIFFANY and TIFFANY & CO. for jewelry.' It requires Katz to pay Tiffany damages of $600,000.

'We are pleased to have brought a halt to another group of counterfeiters', said Michael Kowalski, chairman and chief executive officer of Tiffany. 'The $600,000 fine has been paid in full. It will go directly into the continuing efforts to thwart counterfeiters so that we can protect the public as well as our famous name and mark.'

Katz had sold counterfeit TIFFANY jewelry on the eBay website under the name 'Diamondpage' and through the website www.pennsylvaniadiamondexchange.com.

Tiffany was represented in the case by James B. Swire of the law firm, Dorsey & Whitney LLP, in New York, New York and J. Scott Kramer of the law firm, Duane Morris LLP, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Tiffany & Co. (NYSE: TIF) operates jewelry and specialty retail stores and manufactures products through its subsidiary corporations. Its principal subsidiary is Tiffany and Company ('Tiffany'). Founded in 1837, Tiffany now operates more than 140 TIFFANY & CO. retail stores and boutiques in the Americas, Asia-Pacific and Europe and engages in direct selling through Internet, catalog and business gift operations. The Company's Specialty Retail operations include consolidated results from retail ventures operated by subsidiaries other than Tiffany under separate trademarks or trade names. Worldwide sales were $2.0 billion in 2003. For additional information, please visit www.tiffany.com .

TIFFANY & CO. and TIFFANY are trademarks of Tiffany and Company

Yeah, that's what I'm planning on doing. I use a text-only email browser anyways, so I don't ever open things directly in an email.

My friend got her engraved Cake knife set and Cake topper off of ebay. She also got her garters (new of course) for, like, 3 buck a piece!!!
So for the small stuff I would totally look into Ebay.
Happy Bidding!
