e-file

e-file

I'm trying to explain to my father a 65 year old computer programmer that he should efile instead of the old fashioned paper route.
My mom is all jealous that I efiled last weekend and will have my return next friday in my savings and wants me to explain it to my dad.

I did mine through a CPA this year but if anyone has any good websites on it I would appreciate it. He took off from work today and already did his scrap-trial run taxes via paper so now might be a good day for him to do it via the computer.

Also, he files a NY and a NJ tax return how would he handle those? Would he just do those via paper-- the mail??

I appreciate all your help!

I live in Texas so I can't easy show him how to do it!

Re: e-file

As an Accountant I am not at all thrilled with the idea of e filing!!

The govt gets your info faster and easier, right into their computer programs, so it can run it thru thier audit porgram, and spit out returns to audit even quicker.

The IRS is not accepting e-file so you can get your money quicker, they are doing it because it benefits them audit wise.
