So I sent out my invites for our e-party and I have been geeting some mixed reviews from my FIL's. They don't understand why we are having an e-party, bridal shower and wedding. It's has if there confused or something. Anyone having issues?? I'm starting to 2nd guess the idea of having one. There have even been comments about us excepting three presents.

I had an e-party and I no one had anything negative to say about it!
I would just say to those that are giving you a hard time that the purpose of having an e-party is to celebrate your engagement not to get gifts and if they choose not to give you a guft thats fine and if they dont want to celebrate the fact that you got engaged then thats their choice!

My mom was the same way. She was totally against us having one. She felt it was just a way to hit people up for money. And I could def see her point, but we kinda felt like our wedding was, at that point, over 2 years away, that it wouldn't be one thing on top of the other.

dont worry.....people dont HAVE to give you presents they do it bc they want to and having an eparty is celebrating your engagement not having a party to ask for gifts........tell you FH to check ur FIL's !!!!! they shouldnt be making you feel that way during this special time!!!

Have what you want, ya know....its the way you wanna celebrate it.
My FMIL insisted we didnt have an engagement party and kind of gave us hell about it so we decided not to have one...and honestly I kind of regret it....I just wanted a party to celebrate the fact that we got engaged, but she felt otherwise.

My FIL's had no problem throwing us an e-party at there house, especially since they gave one to FH's older sister. So now we're having a bbq/luau. Don't let anyone else stress you. Do what YOU want. And presents should be expected at e-parties. I would never go to an e-party without bring a gift. Best of luck!

i had the same issue....thats why i didnt have 1! Im so upset we didnt....but my mother made it clear that she doesnt believe in e-parties and that she never gives gifts to ppl for them so that she doesnt think i'll be getting anything. Well she was right! I got close to nothing. But don't let ppl comments 2nd guess it....have it, enjoy yourself! Trust me if i had the $ i would of threw one for myself!!
