e-party

I have a question...who is supposed to host/pay for the e-party?

I think the grooms parents but my parents paid for ours

We are paying for our own, but both parents offered to help.

Re: e-party

Honestly things are so expensive that the whole traditional thing is out the window (unless you both come from money).

I have heard of pretty much everyone hosting the party from the bride/groom, both sets of parents, etc.

Re: e-party

I think the wedding rules are so outdated...like everyone said today who ever can afford it does it.

Re: e-party

My parents gave us money as a gift for our engagement and told us we could do what we wanted with it so we're throwing a party with some of the money.

Re: e-party

i dont think the 2 of you have to come from money. I think that parents need to come together and offer to help out with 'something'. Even if all they could pay for is the E-party, at least they are cooperating and giving us their blessing. I think its annoying that so far my mom is the only one who has offered to help pay for stuff. meanwhile she is the one who is WORSE of financially.

My parents are broke and in debt. His mother prob. hasn't thought about it. His father has a kid in college and 4 toddlers running around so I'm sure he's busy taking care of his family. To make things even WORSE, his parents are divorced and HATE each other, so I am sure that they are prob. more annoyed at the fact that they have to see each other on any of our stupid wedding events...

so to answer the original question:
WE are paying for the damn E party .

Re: e-party

Traditionally bride's parents, groom's parents pay for rehearsal dnner. Mine paid for ours, FH's parents will pay for RD

Re: e-party

We were not going to have one but FH's boss -SO RANDOM I KNOW! - threw us a small luncheon last week, about 50 people at an Italian restuarant.

Granted, an odd situation we weren't expecting but it turned out really nice.

I think it depends on how big you are planning.
