Re: E Party
Thats great!! We didn't register for a registry. I was told that it was not 'appropriate' to expect gifts at an e-party. Though we received well over $1300 in cards.

Re: E Party
We registered 2 weeks after we got engaged. Its great to register early especially for holiday and birthdays. For my birthday I got my pots and pans and as my engagement gift from my grandparents my coffee maker.
If you go to BBB they will help you with what you should have on your registry.

Re: E Party
You keep the same registry and add things as it gets closer to the wedding right??

Ditto. according to wedding etiquette, its a no-no ..but do what you feel comfortable.

Re: E Party
Do what you like. when my friend got engaged, she didn't register at that point, but she let everyone know if they asked, that she was registering @ Macy's and BBB... this way you can get gift cards for the places you are going to be registering at, at least. my friend told me to at least start a registry even if it is small so you don't get 5 of the same picture frame and people can at least start to pick things off of there...

Re: E Party
We registered at Macy's last month and our e-party is in January also. Our parents suggested registering, since many people wanted to give us gifts that we would actually like for the e-party. I would suggest registering, especially if you are going to register for china. It's super expensive and many times relatives will give you place settings for your bday, holidays etc.
We also don't have a house yet, so we couldn't register for linens, bedding etc... so we plan to add that sort of stuff down the road for my bridal shower. Macy's is convenient because you can add/remove items online.

Re: E Party
I guess you could register for anything really. Some people like the option of giving a gift instead of money at an e-party so it's good to have a few items on there. I wouldn't register for big things though (like your china, silverware, or anything like that). Maybe register for some decorative items, like a nice vase or knick-knacks for the house.

Re: E Party
i didn't register cause we needed money... and we did recieve a lot of cash from our e-party its all on what you think you would prefer...i figured i had more time and more birthdays and holidays to get use out of the registry and the e-party was a good way to help raise some money for our wedding
