Did everyone have an e-party?? I don't really want one. We got engaged Dec 6, and are getting married in August. If you had a short engagement, did you still have a party?
We were thinking of just having a small get together at our apt.
I feel like eveeeeeeryone has an e-party though now. Did you?

We did! We had it in November at Vetro in Howard Beach..........We wanted something just for our immediate family and BP (wound up being 85 ppl)......
If you don't want to, you def don't have to! It is nice though to join in a little celebration for your engagement! A little coctail party at your apt is a perfect idea as well!

nope, we didn't even have a small get together. people will be celebrating with us at our wedding so we didn't see it necessary to spend the money for ANOTHER thing

No, we didn't. We just went out with our moms and FSIL to see Giorgio's and have brunch there. FMIL wanted to throw us one, but I didn't want to. Rather her save her money.

nope, we didn't have one, even with a 2 year engagement. we didn't think it was necessary. so we put the money towards the wedding.

No, we didn't have one. We didn't feel it was necessary and we just didn't want one, to be honest. We had a 13 month engagement.

we didnt have one. I actually never knew that ppl did this until I came on here. they only thing we did was to go to my aunts house and have dinner and drinks. there was about 10 of us.
FMIL even asked us about having a party (6 months AFTER we got engaged), I was just confused why we need one and really didnt want one

we had a party...but it was like 30 people at my parents' house...and there was really nothing 'engagement party-y' about it other than a toast by my dad (and obviously following that, toasts by fils correcting the mistakes that my dad made in his toast.....)

We didn't have one. For a few reasons, 1. we didn't have the $ for it and after making guest list we saw it would be a good 100 people which is basically a smaller version of my wedding. 2. It was the dead of winter. If we got engaged in the spring or summer we would have had a bbq but it didn't work out like that.
One good thing is that we were making the rounds anyway for the holidays and celebrated with everyone then.

we got engaged July 08 and our parents threw us one in January of this year (on our 8 year anniversary)
if you're having a short engagement i think a small get together would be nice

We did, but we also had along engagment our e-party was November 9, 2008 for about 55 people. you don't have to have one!

we had an e-party but it was FIL's idea. we really didnt want one, but then in the end im glad we did. our engagements going to be about 13 months and we did it. i dont think it matters how long the engagement is, if u want one i'd say go for it!!!
