E-party BBQ (long) Link to pics
So it was yesterday and you all know how the weather was! FH got up early to get a spot at the park at 7:30am. I got up at 9 to get ready and it took me almost an hour to do my own makeup! Since I never do my own and I felt so insecure and kept trying different things.
So I get to the park at 10:30 and FH leaves to pick up the cake and balloons. It was drizzling the whole time I was there waiting alone. All I could think of was will people show up. My cook called me to make sure we were still on. My only consolation was that on the other side there was another party that had also arrived at 7:30am.
The party was supposed to start at 12 and no one was there yet. I called my mom to pick her up and she was like 'Oh its cold outside. You know I'm sick.' She made it sound like I should cancel because of her. She asked me how many people were going and I said like 40-50 and she was shocked. 'You have enough food to feed these people?' Thanks mom for thinking that I have no friends.
I pick her up with my cook who she gives a dirty look at for no reason. We get there and for the whole party she was anti-social and just guarding her gifts and my phone thinking someone was going to steal it.
Anyways everyone started coming at 1 and I think only 10 people didn't show up. Everyone stayed until 6 in the freezing cold with me. What's hilarious is that there were so many parties going on in the park at the same time. There was even a motorcycle bbq going on with like 100 bikers no joke. Alot of my guests when they parked thought they were in the wrong place!. Glad we got a secluded spot!
FH and I decorated the tables with balloons and table clothes with our wedding colors. I gave our favor bags with kisses and ringpops. It turned out to be really fun and amazing. Only the adults got us presents while everyone else brought chips and soda.
We spent about 300 for everything and have so much food left over. I think we have 50 burgers left. We are definitely having another party this week to help get rid of some of this or we will both get super fat. The money we got as gifts covered the whole party and then some so I feel so relieved.
I'm glad everything worked out on our budget. I was soo worried about games, but everyone just had fun talking to each other. Oh I also had an address book circulated for my guests so I don't have to hunt for them later.
I will put up pics when I get home tonight.
