AHHH! I spent the whole weekend trying to find centerpieces for my e-party on Nov. 23 and I can't find anything!!! I wanted to make the little castles that were posted before but the little cones for the top was 99 cents each, and I thought that was crazy b/c thats only one small part! Then I went to look at baskets and they were about $6+! I was hoping to put the favors in there and tie balloons to the top. I am lost. I don't want to spend too much money.

Re: E-party Centerpieces-HELP
This is what I am doing: I am buying brandy sniffers (very large ones) from Michael's and placing floating roses inside of it. Then I will have votive holders with tea lights around it with rose petals on the table. I am having my eparty at home and didn't want to spend so much on them. I will have about 5 tables. I will also buy floating candle bowls (also from Michael's) and placing roses and candles in it around the house. I may go back and forth with the sniffers and floating bowls, depends on the room and so forth. Each 'arrangement' will cost about $15.

That sounds like a really nice idea--the brandy sniffers-- you got those at Micheals? Were the very expensive? Where are you getting the roses and rose petals? THe decor is like a typical hall I think the walls are peach and there is a huge dance floor in the middle, and a small cherry wood bar. Any more suggestions are welcomed! I knew I could come here for help!!! (everyone else I asked, is like Geez, I don't know).

I went to the grocery store, and bought all different bunches of flowers, got all the old vases lying around the apt (and a few from friends) and mixed and matched the flowers.
every vase was different, and someone even asked me if they were form my garden?? I liked it
Good luck

Re: E-party Centerpieces-HELP
Each sniffer is about $14.99 without tax. However, if you can get some of the circulars, you can use the coupon and save $6 on each. The circular today has an additional coupon that you can use up to today for 50%. The second is the regular 40% coupon they have every week. The flowers I plan on getting from the flower district in nyc.
Edited to add: If you plan on doing this or seeing the sniffers, go to the Michael's in Westbury. They have more inventory there than at the Levittown location. And last time I checked Levittown, they didn't have them.

Re: E-party Centerpieces-HELP
We had a backyard e-party under a tent in September and my mom got these great potted flowers from Home Depot of all places. I think they were about $7 - 10 a piece. I don't remember the name of them but they looked like little branches with purple flowers. We are SO not creative so making something was out of the question!

You girls seriously have the best ideas!!! Luv ya! The vases I have ( a trillion) would be so cute and the potted plants would both be adorable! I could tie a bow around the them with the same ribbon I used on the invitations! (not that anyone would notice ha ha ) Keep 'em coming!

Re: E-party Centerpieces-HELP
To make the pointy parts . .we cut a half circle out of card stock and tulle and glued the straight edges together. . .the rest is out of papertowel tubes and milk cartons! . . .if you are pressed for time maybe you can go to Michael's and buy glass ivy bowls and go to Price club and buy roses and put those on the table: If you have any questions just ask: GOOD LUCK!!
Miss Linda, I wanted to make those so bad in the first place, the card stock is so much better! Now I just have to think about using something other than paper towel rolls ( I didn't save any ) and cartons.

Re: E-party Centerpieces-HELP
you can use Styrofoam or thick wooden dowels and then take cotton batting and cover them and then cover it with material. . . .go to a party or stationary store or 1.00 store to see if you can get square gift boxes or little square crates for a dollar or make a box from foam board and then cover it . . .This way is very time consuming and possibly expensive and I don't know how sturdy it will be **Ask around at work tomorrow you never know . . .people save the weirdest things You have two weeks. . people go through milk and juice containers and paper towels ( you can even put toilet paper tubes together!! ) very quickly (especially if they have young kids) Ask neighbors and friends . .by the way you need 2 liter soda bottles to put the foam in for the flowers.
Or you can always: If you have a milk or juice carton pour the milk (or juice) into a pitcher and then unroll the paper towels (put them in a ziplock and use them they don't need to be on a roll ) Try making it before you drive yourself crazy looking for the materials. . . Good Luck!!!!!!

Re: E-party Centerpieces-HELP
Thanks Miss Linda! You have been a great help! Last night I went home and got some paper towel rolls and wrapping paper rolls and experimented. I have to buy more card stock and find the cartons. If worse comes to worse I'll buy those candy boxes they sell in Micheals (if they are the right size) or try some of the things you suggested. If this works out I'll be sooooo happy! Did you glue the rolls to the cartons? I can't wait to get home tonight after work and start making them!
