A good friend of mine from HS just got engaged (I posted last week) and her mom is planning an eparty already for like 3 weeks from now.
When i got engaged we didn't have a party in fact I didn't even call this girl (I'm such a terrible friend, she called me THAT night to tell me), but her and 4 other friends all got me a BBB gift card for $150 since me and FH had already registered by the time I visited home.
My question is, what is a good gift to bring someone for an engagement. I don't want to throw money at her as I feel like that should be for the wedding, and they're not registered yet so I can't pick something off that or give a gift card.
I'd love to give something nice, but because my friends are all scattered around I don't think the same group of us are going to go in for a 'joint' present like they did for me.
Anything super great that you girls got?

Re: E-Party Gift
My best girls gave me scrap books that they picked up from Hallmark. I also loved the Vera Wang ring holder, a Vera Wang picture frame, and a VS gift card
I love the champagne idea though! That with a pair of toasting flutes would be really nice!

Picture frames are always nice.

Re: E-Party Gift
Be cautious if you are getting a gift. We don't own a house yet and although we are very grateful for gifts, we have no place to put anything in our tiny apt.

what about a personalized hanger? it's personal and something she probably isn't even thinking about yet.

Re: E-Party Gift
I hate when people don't register for their engagement party!! They must get tons of gifts they don't want!!
We registered, but got a bunch of gift cards to different stores and it was great because you can either use it as you are getting settled, or after you get married and still have things left to buy that are left on the registry.
I got tons of picture frames and a few sets of toasting flutes and how many of those do you really need? I say go for the gift card or the personalized hanger!

Re: E-Party Gift
For ours we said don't worry about gifts and people still give...some gave money, some gave BB&B gift cards. Some also knew I wanted to make improvements to the house so they got visa, lowes, home depot g.c. SOme got some cocktail related things and bottles of wine. Someone also got those mini photo album sets where it had shower, wedding and honeymoon on it in a little case.
