E-Party invites?

E-Party invites?

I posted about this the other day but now I'm having problems with the invites...

Like I said we're just doing a BBQ for our engagement party and only inviting parents, siblings, grandparents and close friends. When we started doing aunts and uncles it was like 80 people, this way is about 30.

So I'm just sending the invite to my close friends and I don't want them to feel like they have to bring a gift since it's not a 'real' party... is there a nicer way of writing 'no gifts'?

I know some of them will give something anyway but I don't want them to think they're being invited just for that.

Your presence is our present

That's perfect. However, even if you say that, people will bring gifts.

I agree! I love it! But people are going to do what they want to do! LOL!

LOL that's actually what I was thinking about using but I didn't know if it was too cheesey.

It doesn't matter though, my friends will probably make fun of me no matter what I write.

we're planning the same type of thing in august and was wondering about this also. we're being told having e parties is looked at as 'selfish' these days because people have to give you so much stuff. we wanted to have a party anyway, we dont care about the presents, so we wanted to write 'no gifts please' on the invites. but I was trying to figure out a nicer way to word it.

FH told me to just send an evite to everyone saying we're having a BBQ and not even mention it's an engagement party... I might just do that.
