We are having an informal e party/housewarming. BBQ and local italian catered. We are having trouble with the guestlist b/c it seems like we may hit over 100 peeps. Regardless, its the last weekend in July so i have time but should we be sending out invites or can we go with evites?

Re: E party invites: Evite or mail
I did both....sent regular invites to the old biddies who I know have no clue how to even turn a computer on. But for my friends, I sent email invitations. We are doing the informal backyard BBQ as well, and I could have cared less about invitations either way. HTH!

I kind of like the idea of the e-vite...especially if its an informal party. I feel like the paper invite implies formal. Plus its more cost effective

I like the formal invite. Even though it is an informal BBQ, its still your E-PARTY!

I also like the evite idea, because it is an informal party.

I think you should send out regular invites... You can get cheap ones from vistaprint.. I don't like evites personally

Re: E party invites: Evite or mail
I would go with a regular invite just because I would worry someone doesn't check their mail or respond in time.
You can find really nice, inexpensive e-party invites on Vistaprint.com

I am very traditional- I say paper all the way! I'm even sending out invites for my RD. I know every time we are invited to something via text or email for FH's friends 'm always like 'Where is it? What time is it? I need directions!'

Re: E party invites: Evite or mail
Just so you know, i did evites (from evite.com) for my eparty and about half the people did not receive the emails! (no idea why)
if anything, i would send out a regular email so it'll be more likely that they read it.
but yeah, i think an email invitation is fine for an informal engagement party ... it'll save $$ on paper invitatiosn and stamps

Re: E party invites: Evite or mail
We are having an informal BBQ for family and the bridal party ... We sent invitations in the mail! They were fun, cutey ones and relatively inexpensive. With such a large party that you are planning to have I think you should mail an invitiation since it seems you will be getting gifts etc.
