My FI and I got engaged in Nov. of 2003. We never got around to planning a e-party or at least a get together with both sides of our families, our wedding is in July 2006, do you think it's too late to have a e-party?
I hate the idea that the wedding will be the first time most people get to meet.

I dont think its too late at all, especially since you still have over a year before the wedding. And if you'd like both sides to meet prior to the wedding I think an e-party is a great idea! :)

I don't think it is too late at all. I got engaged in nov 2003 and had my e-party in march 04 but since you aren't getting married until '06 I think it would be fine to have an e-party now so that both sides could meet. Have both of your parents met?

I don't see a problem in having the party now....its not as if you are getting married next month.
I had to many things going on...so I skipped the party...I think now is to close to my wedding.

Our parents have met but he has a lot of nieces and nephews and were both close to our aunts, uncles, and cousins and I think it would be nice for everyone to be comfortable with each other. My mother thinks it's too late which is why I asked.

Not too late at all! I have been engaged since July 2004, our wedding is June 2006 and our E-Party is April 23, this year!

I think it is fine and i am having my e-party almost 8 mo after our engagement because it worked into our schedules and we wanted nice weather. Also, I have heard that it is appropriate to have an eparty quickly afterwards as well as (if you have a long engagement) about a year before the wedding. I don't know if that is a real thing or not just what I have heard. Lastly - if it feels good do it!!!! This is a once in a lifetime experience - you can define anything the way YOU want to do it.
