E-party question......

E-party question......

Ok i am starting to make my E-party list. I will not be able to invite all the people i am having at my wedding of course. BUT does everyone i invite HAVE TO BE invited to the wedding? most of the people i know , know my budget only allows for so many people.

question 2- should i invite my extended family? i am inviting my cousins and my 3 aunts and uncles to the wedding do i have to invite them to the E-party? or would it be ok to just invite immidate family and friends?

sorry if this sounds like a dumb question but my parents werent sure either. they didnt have one!

I wouldn't invite anyone to the eparty that is not invited to the wedding, I think they might be insulted.

well like i said my friends know i may not be able to invite them all to the wedding and they dont care i dont think i will offend them. its the family i am worried about. i dont think i should be obligated to invite anyone i just dont wanna hear their mouths about it. You also get people who think its stupid to have a e-party then shower then wedding. I work at BBB and all i hear all day from people is why do they have so many parties they are making me spend so much money! lol

We did invite alot of people to the eparty, however not everyone that is invited to the wedding. We explained to those who arent that we do have room constraints and they were totally understanding, these were mostly co-workers of mine (not family). Also I addressed the invites to the Mr and Mrs. not to & Family, If they asked I told them children were optional. So if they wanted a free afternoon they could have one

but doesnt that seem kinda weird? what if you have your eparty before you know your budget and how many people you can afford to have?

ah well ill figure it out. i just know that having it in my yard i am not gonna be able to invite everyone who is going to the wedding! and i refuse to rent out a hall! lol

I know I would.. and I think most people would be super insulted if I was invited to someones e-party and not to their wedding..

you DON'T have to invite everyone to the e-party that will be at your wedding.. but you definitely shouldn't invite them to your eparty and NOT your wedding

1-yeah you def dont invite everyone who is going to your wedding to the e-party also...BUT one thing that is important is that everyone you do invite to your e-party you have to invite to your wedding...One they would feel insulted, its like they are good enough to come to your e-party give you a gift but not important enough to attend your wedding...They're gonna probably wonder what happened in the meantime for you not to want to invite them to your wedding.

If you haven't set a budget yet then def try to think of it now before inviting people, or at least invite those that you are DEFINITELY going to invite to the wedding and thats it.

2-personally we didnt invite any 2nd cousins 3 cousins to the e-party...FH has a huge family,he has 20something first cousins, and then to invite their children wouldve been alot...we had 140 doing the 1st cousins only rule, it was too much already. Usually for the e-party you invited your closest friends this is usually the bridal party and then a few close friends if you want...Family again just those you are very close to.

yeah its hard, some people wont mind, but trust me alot of people get insulted about alot of these things. The thing you have to remember is that for your e-party they will most likely buy you a gift, and then a person who took the time to come to your e-party and gave you something, and then after they were generous you dont invite them to the wedding they might feel a bit insulted.

Also the e-party is supposed to be your closest friends and family, those that also on your wedding day you want there to share your day

First yes its proper ediquette to invite those to the wedding that your inviting to your e-party and you other question..i don't really think its necessary to invite the extended family..we invited our closest family and friends...but its totally up to you

Re: E-party question......

Traditionally an engagement party is supposed to be smaller and more intimate then the wedding, where you would only invite very close friends and family, so no need to invite extended family - but everyone does their own thing. Personally, I don't think it's right to invite someone to your engagement party if they're not invited to the wedding. I don't think I would personally be offended, but I wouldn't feel right doing that to someone else.

If you invite people to your e-party, then YES you have to invite them to your wedding. They will be looking forward to your wedding so you kinda have to. Def invite your extended family to both, but dont go overboard with it. Try not to invite your 5th cousin or 8th aunt or something and if you want it small dont invite your distant friends.

to be honest, I would only stick to family and bridal party for e-party if you are on a budget.
