and what im confused about is that we will be getting gifts (most people informed my mom they're giving money cuz we're not registered, and a couple ppl told her they got me actual gifts) but now, do u open these gifts at the party??? like a shower???
i really don't want to...i wanted to bring them all home and open them w/FH after the party...is that ok?
ive only been to one e-party and they didnt open their gifts, i dont want it to take time from the party, and FH would be embarrassed, and its gonna be mostly envelopes anyway

We didn't open our gifts at our e-party. We took everything home and then opened them. But I made sure to have my thank yous out within that week.

dont open gifts! just make it a policy. especially if ppl are giving you $, its just tacky to open that in front of everyone. just say thank you and put them all on a table.
open them at home and write out appropriate thank you cards.

oh awesome!!! yay i was hoping that opening them home was the 'proper' thing to do!!!
i really dont wanna open them there...and i agree, opening a bunch of cards w/money in them is tacky!!! especially, what if one person gave a tiny amount, and another gave a really big amount???? im not too good w/poker faces...id just be uncomfortable!
and yeah i got my thank yous with my invitations cuz they match....so they will be written out and sent that week!!! ill probably even start them that night!! LOL
