I need some suggestion for E pic places that don't require permits or only a small fee. Not too far out East though. I live in Nassau. I saw Bayard Cutting Arboretum and it was beautiful but now I think my friend is going to take her pics there so I dunno.....

There are a bunch of planting fields on the North Shore (Bayville area) - not too sure if there is a fee involved. Do you have any areas that our special to you guys??

What about Long Beach or Muttontown Nature Preserve. Both very nice and different. Not sure if there is a fee don't see why there should be one.

Our favorite place is Long Beach but I'm afraid there wont be much to photograph. I'm open to suggestions......

Re: E Pic locations
We just had ours at Francis Lewis Park in Whitestone. We live in Oceanside (western Nassau county) and it took about 25 minutes to get there. It was small and really cute, and we were able to take pictures with the bridge in the background. Our photog goes there a lot, and even though the park is small we took pics in 5 or 6 different spots :)

Re: E Pic locations
Westbury Gardens website says you just cant have a tripod and you can take pictures there - they have a whole section for weddings and its $275 and application BUT my thinking is for engagement its just you and FH and photographer so so long as he doesn't bring his tripod it will be cool - we are suppose to go on Saturday depending on the weather but if i got and don't get yelled at or arrested I'll let you know ;)
and its only $10 per person I think to get in
