Absolutely not! Did you book a photographer yet? Most will do them complimentary with your package and all you have to pay for is the prints if you want them.

Problem is we are doing our engagement pics in Ma. SO the photographer wont be our wedding photographer

Re: E-pic question

I would def negoiate that down...or try someone from Craigslist..for NY that sounds high so for MA that is really high

Will you be in NY before your wedding to do pics with your own photographer?

That does seem a bit high.. i would defiantly try to negotiate it down... or wait until you come back to NY and book your photog. most will include an engagement session in your package.

I paid that amount for mine-- we wanted to do them ASAP because we wanted to use them as gifts and other things etc... we got a CD with 400 pictured!!!!!!! no prints-- and i'll tell you it was worth every penny i only put about 10 or so in my album--

The photog is not my wedding photog however they were amazing!!! We have an included epic session in our wedding package with thomas paul and im looking forward to taking those too

I guess what im trying to say is--its really your preference i didnt mind spending that and i got a lot of pictures for my money.

Re: E-pic question

My photog charges $700... Without the wedding package I think it's like $1000!

FH and I splurged for the photog as it is so I'm having a friend who takes pictures as a hobby to just take some pics of us for our save the dates.

Plus he is doing it for free just for experience and his portfolio. Nothing to lose there!

Literally all I did was post on my Facebook 'Anyone take pictures as a side job or hobby? And are you good at it?'

Reach out to your friends/family! They might know somebody!
