E-PICS

hey girls so i had my e-pics session last night at patkens studio (indoors thank God bcuz of the weather!) so i had my hair and makeup done for these pics and we got there and it was over literally in 20 minutes. they said the point of these pictures was to feel us out as a couple and see what kind of pics we like and then they will set us up with a photographer that they feel would suit us.. the guy that took the pics posed me in the most awkward pics and made me look like i had a huge double chin! i am not being concieted here but i am pretty photogenic people even comment on my BJ's club card that they like my picture! lol..so they took about 25 pics maybe 30..and we get to pick 4 for our STD's and one 8x8 to take home. we dont get to keep any of the others..but honestly we dont even want to because we only liked about 6 pics total. idk i jsut feel like that was such a short e-pic session and we dont even get to keep all the pics on a disk or something! i know i didnt want it outside..but i mean there were a few other scense they had in their studio and they didnt ask us if we wanted to use them or anything.. idk im kind of disapointed

OMG do you feel comfortable with them shooting your wedding now??? My epics took over 4 hours and we got a cd with all the pics the next weekend. This DOESN'T sound right.

I felt the SAME way after my first e-pic session with Patken.

Who ever was there took the pics - I wasnt even sure if he was a real photog or just a studio worker who took pics.

We found a couple we liked for our STD's and we got one blown up.

After that I did NOT let them pic my photog - We picked who we wanted and we got Jessie.

We took another set of e-pics with her and really loved them.

Don't get discouraged. I enjoy Patken, I enjoy their work, I'm not a fan of the process.

That stinks - I'm sorry that was your experience I would definately let them know how you feel and try to get a re-shoot with more time, more shots, and a different person.

Our e-pics were over 3 hours, we got tons of pics, all edited on a CD for us to choose from. It will all work out, just make sure you let them know how you feel.

thank you so much for your reply... i want to request someone too..bcuz i was just not happy with last nite..also my wedding is 11-6-11 STD's should have went out already..and i got my hair and makeup done and spent SO much money on the outfit and stuff and im not 100% happy..yes we found 4 pics to use..but i cant believe we didnt get to keep our pics..did u get to?

thanks girls im soo bummed.. and FH doesnt get why im upset bcuz yes we got the 4 pics we needed for the STD's but..im hoping to only get engaged and married once and i was so excited for this shoot and spent so much money and time preparing for it..even took off work and it was over in 20 minutes and we dont even get to kep the pics on a disc or anything..not that i loved all the pics so much but still.. i think i am going to keep the pics i chose for the STD's and let them make them so i can get them out and then tell them i want an outdoor shoot for my e-pics and i want them on a disc! i just dont want to complain because like they r doing my wedding and i dont want to be on their bad side..but it should be the opposite!! right!?

I felt the same way! Doug actually did our pics and I do like them (in my album) but then when I look at other peoples pics I wish I had something like that. He told us Kevin was going to be our photographer. We have to set up an appt to meet him and do another epic session. My only problem is that when I look at other paken pics these are exactly the same. I want different not the same pics everyone else takes.
Its funny I just saw this post cause I was talking to my FBIL and hes a photographer and said that I should have got ALL the pics. Thats what all other photographers do!

i 100% would not settle or accept that

i always thought the point of epics, was to test out YOUR photographer, feel comfortable with them and have them feel comfortable with you and have them get to know what you want, what you like and dont like

i get all my epics and we spent like 4-5 hours

it costs a photographer, very little money to burn pics onto a disc, i see no reason why you cant have all the pics they took, whether you like them or not

you need to talk to the manager stat!

your contract says you are entitled to 2 engagement shots - so you can request another one, with the photogrpaher you pick at a different location. As long as its in the Babylon/Lindenhurt surrounding area they won't charge you extra.

Like I said - I don't really like some of their policies. I kinda wish I thought about it more before signing the dotted line but it's a little too late now LOL

I agree with the other brides, voice your concerns now!!! If I didn't have Jessie as my photog, I would be 100% concerned but I have total confidence in her and what she will deliver.

This exactly! We werent sure at first and FH spoke to Doug about who they assigned to us as our photographer. I knew from people that have raved about her, that I wanted Jessie. So we made an appt with her and couldnt be happier! She is amazing!

did you put a large sum of money down? I'd check out other photogs...
i got all my pictures on a cd and they were touched up. we also spent about 2 hours shooting. along with my pictures i got two brag book albums.
To me it seems like they should have done more for you, or at this point fix what they have done... gl

ok so heres the latest.... supposedly they were going to have the sample STD emailed to my by next thursday but they called me and told me it was ready and i just got the email...let me know what u girls think it is in my album.. also they said my photographer is Steve.. dont know who he is...i think i can also have an off site shoot with him now that they picked my photographer for me..but i know i wont get to keep the pics they take.. just an 8x8 pic that we choose.. well lmk what u think of the STD please i have to tell them yes or no thanks xoxo
