E-Pics & Vent (long)

E-Pics & Vent (long)

So I scheduled my E-pics for the 20th of this month with Duet. I am so excited! Any advice from girls who already took their pics will be greatly appreciated. I am having a hard time deciding what to wear. We are taking them in Central Park.

Now on to my vent. I called Maximus in Westbury to make an appt for make up and to have my hair blown out. I have very thick hair and everytime I go somewhere to have it done it takes them a long time cause they dont realize how long it takes to dry.

So I tell the receptionist this and she says dont worry it will only be 1/2 hour for your hair and then at 10:30 we will do your makeup. I again tell her that I dont think it's enough time and what happens if my hair runs into my makeup appt. She again tells me it will be fine. So now I am really nervous that it is not going to be enough time and I will be late getting into the city. I will probably have my first bridezilla moment if this happens.

I took mine with Duet. I don't know your Photographer is, but these are the things I would tell you:

1) Wear something comfortable, most important shoes. I wore stiletto heels and wanted to kill myself. I can walk in heels, but we were in dirt, on rocks, etc...

2) It is VERY hard to act natural when you have a camera in front of you. Just try and relax and don't worry if you laugh and crap when they tell you to 'close your eyes' 'Kiss', because those were the best shots of me cracking up

3) We both wore Jeans and I wore a black top and FH wore a white linen shirt. IMO, black and white look amazing in pictures and you can't go wrong with it.

Good luck and just have fun

Bari just gave you fantastic tips and advice for the pics-- that was perfect!! But let me just add about the hair appointment. I don't know what is wrong with that receptionist but she needs to realize that YOU are the client-- YOU are the one paying money so if you want extra time put aside to make sure you are not late for an photography shoot they WILL do it-- if they don't, tell them you will go to a salon that will. That is ludicrous, you know your own hair. I would call them back and just say that you don't appreciate her telling YOU that everything will be fine when you know it will not. And I would say that you didn't want to have to get pushy but she leaves you with no choice! And then I would demand that they start AS soon as you get there and that they put aside an extra 10-15 minutes-- WHAT is 10-15 minutes in the grand scheme of things?? Especially when you are paying good money.

GOOD LUCK!!!!

Stay calm and relax...have fun with your pictures...
it's going to be great.

NOW as a former manager and receptionist of a prestigious hair salon...CALL BACK MAXIMUS and TELL THEM YOU NEED ONE HR FOR YOUR HAIR!!! ASK TO SPEAK WITH A MANAGER IF THEY TELL YOU THAT 30MINUTES IS ENOUGH. You know your hair better than they do and they can't see you over the phone. They just don't want underbook the hairdresser, what they don't understand is that they may lose you as a client if everything goes wrong and they will have one pissed off hairdresser and makeup artist who will by the way rush your application if your on a tight schedule and if they are running behind.
