Does anyone else's FH have credit card debt or othe debt b/c of purchasing the e-ring? If so, how do you feel about it?

My DH knew that i look at the bills so he paid cash for my ring so i wouldn't know what he spent.

mine does and I feel terrible about it. I told him since be bought my e-ring, that I would buy our wedding bands. Now he's not sure how he feels about that!!

Luckily no, he paid cash. But if we had ring debt, I would help him pay it off right away.

My DH did but we had a 2 year engagement so he was able to pay it off before we got married. I felt really bad about it though everytime I saw him make a payment on that credit card.

My FH has credit card debt before he purchased the ring.. He also charged the ring and is paying for it interest free, and also has a school loan. I'm not thrilled about it.. I don't owe money to anyone. Our goal is to have HIS debt paid off before we get married... SO far SO good.

He charged the engagement ring and we also charged the wedding bands. We're almost done paying them off.

No. We did not follow any income rule either. FH makes good money but we are older and have to save for so many more things. He bought it cash and didn't wipe out the savings account for it.

He did put it on the store card (fortunoff) but only b/c they gave 10% off and 6 months 0% interest. So he just made payments to ensure that it was paid off before the interest free was up. I didn't feel bad b/c we shopped for it together. I was adamant about him not spending alot of money on an e-ring and he ended up spending a bit less than we agreed on.

yes and every month when we pay the bills I make him write that check even though it comes out of our joint account.

We didn't follow the rule either. I didn't want him to spend that much money. He paid in cash. I would be upset if he went into debt over the ring.
