Re: E-Ring Insurace
I know a lot of girls use Jewelers Mutual or just add the ring to their car insurance. I have been putting this off too and should get on this right away!

Re: E-Ring Insurace
We put it under the home owners policy under it's own policy so it's covered.

The Jewelry Judge in Garden City appraised my ring and we insured it through Liberty Mutual under our homeowners.

Re: E-Ring Insurace
OH FYI - I had my ring appraised also its a good idea to have that done. But when you insure it the insurers want the bill of sale. Because a ring will always be appraised for more then the purchase price. Unless you got duped. Remember Diamonds & Gold or Platinum always appreciate & never depreciate.

Re: E-Ring Insurace
I have renters insurance through geicco I called them which in turn connected me to Travelers and they insured my ring as a personal article insurance which means if anything happens they write me a check for exact appraised value

Re: E-Ring Insurace
i put mine under a separate jewelry insurance through Chubb. i looked into putting it through homeowners insurance, renter's insurance and jewelers mutual but if anything happens to the ring, all of these options will only give you another ring that is of equal value to ur current ring. you go to a jeweler and pick it out if i'm not mistaken. Chubb will actually cut you a check. Also some insurance will not cover if the diamond gets chipped. Make sure you look into what you are getting.

Ditto!!! My brother works for an Ins Co. he said the appraisal is to make sure FH wasnt ripped off but the Bill of Sale/receipt is what the Ins Co. wants to insure the ring.

FOLLOW UP QUESTION:
I have a jewelry rider on my policy up to certain amount, so I wonder if I need to add my ring? Since it's always on my finger, it is not likely to be stolen from my house if I'm not there . . . . but if ALL my jewelry is stolen, the rider won't cover it . . . . though much of it I wouldn't replace . . . . I'd replace the e-ring first and buy fewer, better, pieces to replace the rest . . .
So, if you have a jewelry rider, do you need to separately add your ring?
