Re: e ring insurance

you just have to bring the appraisal (sp) to your insurance company. They can add it to any policy. We put mine on our homeowner's insurance....

I insured mine through this insurance company: Jewelers Mutual

I second Jewelers Mutual. First you have to have it appraised. There is a great guy in Garden City. FM me if you want his info. Then you send it all in to the ins. company. Mine costs $96 a year.

Re: e ring insurance

I did not put it under renter's / homeowners insurance due to the fact that they never give you what it is appraised for.

I used Chubb and it has world wide coverage. If it is lost they send me a check for the amount the ring was appraised for. My sister uses Jewelers Mutual and likes them. The policy price is based on a dollar amount per hundred.

Insurance is so worth it.

I used Chubb also - and insurance it for what it apparised for- b/c the price of diamonds is always going up - and if you lose it in 5 years- it might cost a lot more to get the same thing you have now

I paid 2% the apparised value

Re: e ring insurance

I got my ring insured through Travelers- it's who I have my homeowner's insurance through, so we just added it to the policy. You'll need to give them an idea of the cost of the ring so they'll be able to give you a quote. You won't have to provide an appraisal or anything- you'll only need that if you're makig a claim against your policy.

Re: e ring insurance

Just a side note to the appraisals..every few years get a new one. The diamonds should increase in value over time and you want to make sure that your insurance company has an accurate appraisal.

I'm due to get a new one now and I've been procrastinating.
