when i first wanted to get my ring insured FH said that i should just be careful. then the other day he said i should get in insured.
so for those who have their ring insured what company do you have & what do i have to do to take care of this??

Re: E-ring insurance
We have renters insurance so we added a rider onto that...the same can be done with homeowners insurance. If you have neither of those I had gotten a quote from Chubb (chubb.com) whihc was reasonable.

Re: E-ring insurance
we have traveler's for our renters insurance and we were able to add the e-ring to that...
i would def insure the ring....god forbid something happens to the ring you want to make sure it is covered. Plus it will also give you some peace of mind...I know the first 2 weeks I wore my ring before it was insured and I was so nervous...I felt better once it was insured!

Re: E-ring insurance
you can add a personal property to your insurance...the only thing you can't add it to is your car insurance....we have our renters with state farm and car insurance for geico, so we had to put it with state farm. its an extra $100 a year
fyi - when you get it insured, make sure you cover it all ways...like against robbery, damage, lost stone, etc.

Re: E-ring insurance
we don't have renters insurance. we are covered under my parents home owners insruance. i want to get it on my own though, instead of putting it as a rider on their policy. i also would prefer to go to an insurance agency instead of an on-line only company. i guess i will call a few brockers in my neighborhood & see what they say.
should it be insured for the amount FH paid for it or for a new appraisal amount??

So did I, since the ring was from blue nile they already had all the appraisal information so it worked out well, very convenient....

geico is weird all together! I used to have my car insurance through them and then my rate when way up when I had no accidents or tickets.
