E-ring: Left or Right hand?

E-ring: Left or Right hand?

Hi All,

I am an 'old bride', who hasn't posted in a while, but a question came up at work this morning and I knew this would be the place to turn.

Which hand do you wear your engagement ring on? A friend got engaged over the weekend and is debating whether it should go on the left or the right.

I only ever wore mine on the left, but some people are saying it goes on her right hand until she gets married. Your thoughts? TIA.

I always wear it on the left and I've never seen anyone wear it on the right...as far as I've noticed...

I always thought it goes on your left hand, even before you are married

the left hand...BUT in some countries it is worn on the right hand, for example i know many europeans who wear it on the right hand...however in america the tradition is the left hand.

The Left-Hand is the only hand I have ever heard of wearing your engagement ring on. I don't think people would know you were engaged if you wore it on the right hand.

It is American Tradition to wear it on your left ring finger -- it is said that their is a vein in that finger that runs directly to your heart.

Some European Countries and I think some forms of the Jewish Religion wear it on the right ring finger.

Left hand, although some people switch it to Right hand after they get married if they dont want to wear it with their wedding band (and put the wedding band on the left hand).

In the Greek-Orthodox faith, the wedding ring is placed on the right hand, so the engagement ring is also worn on that hand.

your only supposed to wear it on your right hand the day of your wedding...then after the ceremony you put it back on the left hand to make the wedding ringset...
