My Ering is white gold but it's faded yellow. Can I have my ring dipped in platinum so it doesn't fade?

Good question, i think it might be able to. I know it can be dipped in white gold.

Re: E-Ring Question
I think the fading is a chemicla reaction to your skin. ave you tired just getting it professinally cleaned? My BIL's wedding band is all dull and faded, but my sister's is fine. I think it's ody chemistry. I don't think you need to go through dipping...ask a jeweler!

Yes, you definately can. It should cost around $40 and they can do it while you wait. You'll have to have it re-dipped about once a year

Re: E-Ring Question
One of my bridesmaids ring did that and she was having a heart attack thinking that the jeweler ripped her off and gave her a yellow gold band with silver over it.
He said that the reason why it turned yellow was because of the chemical reaction with her body and that it just needed to be rhodiumed again but this was only after she had the ring 3 weeks.
She had the ring re-rhodiumed but he said getting it dipped in platinum was definately a possibility.

Only $40 - thats really cheap! Maybe I will do that when I go to get it cleaned, I just love the color of platinum!

how can it only be $40 when the difference in price of buying a platinum band and a white gold band can be $1500 that is weird or is it just because it is dipped

Re: E-Ring Question
I think the $40 is for it to be re-rhodiumed (sp?) not to change the band to platnium. My band started 'fading' a few weeks after, but only the part thats under my finger. The rest of it is fine. I'll probably wait a little longer to get it redipped.
