My engagement ring is platinum and my wedding ring is white gold. You can not tell the difference and my jewler, who is a friend of the family, recommended white gold. In fact it's what he wears.

Re: E-ring question
I'm getting white gold. The lower cost is a bonus but I prefer that it is shinier.

Re: E-ring question
I have a platinum band with a smaller center stone than I would (ideally) like. BUT at the time we picked it out, I loved it and it has grown to be a part of me.
But let's get real here - if I had to go back, I would have picked a white gold band with a bigger center stone. I'm not gonna lie

I am very hard on my hands, but I'm afraid of white gold yellowing.
Has anyone's e-ring yellowed and had to be 're-dipped'?
I just redipped mine about a month ago. FH gave me the ring on Valentine's day, 2003. It began to get yellow gradually. It got really yellow; it didn't even match the wedding band it came with.

I would try to go for the Platinum if possible. It's not like you get an engagement ring everyday
I agree
