i wear mine-im not taking it off when half the people i work with have rings twice the size of mine

i won't wear my good bags though-i wear a plain dooney and burke leather bag without a logo

i read that one time a woman wasnt hired bc the interviewer said her bag was too big

Wear it! I would never judge anyone for wearing there's.

If she is that judgemental im sure she will find some other non-work related reason not to hire you.

i remember the post you are referring to and some people were saying to take it off bc if they see you are engaged they might then think you are gonna get married and have kids right away....

but this is illegal if they don't hire you bc of that...i would wear my ring...i wouldnt want to work somewhere that is discriminating based on marital status, etc.

theres no way I'd take mine off for an interview! I wouldn't want to work for a company that would discriminate against me for being engaged anyway.

I wore mine...and was handed the job at the end of the interview. I also met with a married woman. I think it can make a difference with some people, but I don't feel like you should be ashamed. If you want, wear it on a nice chain your neck...one of my friend's did. She didn't want it to make or break anything and she landed the job. Once she started, they didn't notice her ring anyway.

I've never heard of this before. Actually it sounds really bizarre. Sorry, but I'm not taking my ring off or switiching what kind of bag I wear..

it was on BHB....i got a little upset about it...i feel like the working worlds wants us to be men...and there is no way a mna would take off his ring...

so i asked the people that do the hiring here at my internship...there answer:
absolultley not! you should keep it on! it makes you look more mature, stable ....etc etc...and yes of course you will be taking time off for you honeymoon and wedding...but its 'your' time...

so im wearing it...

I took an interviewing strategies class in college and the professor who did this type of consulting for a living told us the unfortunate truth that many people will assume you will be planning a wedding during work nonstop and/or that you will stop working shortly, etc. She also told us that if they question you about your ring, while it is illegal, you are better off directly answering their question rather than saying something like you want to keep your personal life private.

I actually have an interview tomorrow though and I plan on WEARING mine because I wouldn't want to work for a company that makes prejudice assumptions anyways. We as women have to overcome so much, it's so sad

I wore mine to my interview and they hired me lol I think it is fine but of course, do what you feel comfortable doing!

Its really not a matter of comfort. Truth is I really want this job and don't want to let anything stand in my way of getting it. I wear my ring all day everyday unless I am cleaning or in the shower. So I definatly want to wear it I just don't want to jeopardize me getting this job.

I also think its ridiculous that this is even a concern... Thanks for the input everyone

Agreed. It is absolutely positively 100% ridiculous that we have to worry about hiding our rings!! Sometimes, I hate society...

Wear it!! Seriously? If a company doesnt hire women because theyr'e married, who would want to work for that company anyway?
