Who's done it and what was your experience. It scares me a little, but I think if I knew it was safe, I might do it.

I WAS GOING TO POST ABOUT THIS I heard it on the radio and was thinking uhh i could never do this how painful...and I hate when my ears crackle- and then he was describing it going up to his eyebrows- i was like uh BUT- I think it is a good thing to get 'everything yucky' OUT!

My SIL just had this done...it doesn't hurt at all. It is an ancient method of cleaning out your ear canals and sinuses. She was talking to the lady that did hers and they find all kinds of stuff in ears like bugs... YCUK!

Basically, from what I can gather, they insert a candle in your ear and it extracts the wax and build up. It clears your ear canal and helps clear your sinuses too, or so they say.
All I know is that my ears have felt gross ever since I heard this!
eta: ok, in my brooklyn accent I say: Sorry, but I 'aint puttin' no friggin' candle in my ear!!! YUK!!!!!

FH had it done for medical reasons.....he said it didnt hurt and he liked it cause he felt 'clean' after.....I would totally do it but I dont know if they do it just cause you want it - like if its not necessary you know?

I've read quite a few articles on this and they say it's a bunch of BS, it doesn't really work.

I would go to an EN&T doctor to get my ears cleaned out if necessary, not have some spa chick stick a candle in my ear. JMO.

I tried it with a home kit and when my mom almost set hte house on fire we stopped and said this is crap! haha I've read that is really not true and what people think is wax and stuff coming out of their ears, is really just the inside of the candle burning
