Early Afternoon Wedding?!?!

Early Afternoon Wedding?!?!

So yesterday me and my FH started our LIweddings tour. lol! We started going to a bunch of Venues we liked 4 to be exact. We went to The Watermill, Leonards 555, Coral House and Jericho Terrace.

While we like almost all of the venues we fell in LOVE with Jericho Terrace, it is just what we were looking for it was modern and new the grounds were beautiful and the manager was so honest and real! plus it is within our price point.

Now the only problem is not just with this venue but most is either having a 12p-5p wedding or a 5-10 wedding. since it is a Sunday I understand everyone may not be able to stay all night and that is fine all of our family and close friends will be around. However if we do have a Late evening wedding we have to guarantee 100 guest (Our current guest list is at 85) which I am not sure we would be able to do. Plus alot of my friends/family will be coming from the city as well.

My question is has anyone had an early afternoon wedding? what was it like? Have you been to one? Did it feel like it was to early in the day?

Any advice would be appreciated! Plus I have quotes if you are interested in any of the above Venues it is for a September wedding!

Early Afternoon Wedding?!?!

I've been to a few early weddings & I don't think it was too early. It's definitely an early day for a bride though because you would have to wake up super early for hair & makeup, pictures, etc. I'm doing an early wedding 12-5:30. There was a huge price difference & it just didn't make sense for me to pay so much more to have it a few hours later. I don't mind waking up a little earlier to save thousands of $ lol

This Sunday I went to a wedding from 5-10 at the Sterling. Some people did leave early but they left around 9:30 once the cake was already cut & served and they were the older guests. I stayed until the end and I didn't think it was too late at all. I think either option is fine and the people who want to be there will be there regardless

I have been to a Saturday and Sunday early afternoon wedding. During one the ceremony started at 1130am and the wedding was over by 5pm. It depends on how you feel, but I loved it and I had time to rest up after, before traveling home the next day :) I am having a night wedding because I've always wanted that, but afternoon weddings are just as beautiful.

Thank you! I guess I was just concerned about the Party vibe as I wast everyone to just have a great time. I do agree you can save sooooo much by getting married earlier in the day.

Thank you for that, I always dreamed of having a night wedding as well but we can save a couple of thousand by having it later I just dont want to feel like I 'settled' for a Early wedding.

I think no matter what you decide to do , those who matter will be there and stay the whole time and have a blast!

My only concern with a daytime wedding is how early you have to wake up to get ready. I know my FSIL was up at 3-4am to get her hair done

3-4 a.m. is very early & it would've turned me off also. I guess it depends on the size of the bridal party? I have 5 girls + myself and I will be waking up to get ready at 5. Everyone needs to be ready by 9 to start pictures at 9:30 because we don't want to take pictures during our cocktail hour

Yea im speaking with my FH now because I really dont wanna get up that early and we both agreed we would be willing to spend the most for our reception. so I think I may Opt for a later event.

I am also having an early wedding. Ceremony starts at noon so we are starting pictures at 9 so we can do a first look and hopefully enjoy our cocktail hour but hair and make up does have to start at 5 am which as long as I have coffee and a mimosa I don't think will be too bad ;)

My advice is do whatever you think will make you happy! My FHs parents were upset that it is over at 5:30 but we compromised by doing an after party so those who want to continue to party can but honestly I think my hubby and I will just want to unwind in our hotel room and celebrate the fact that we are married!!!!!!

5AM isn't that bad. I know I'll probably be up at that time anyway happier than a pig in sh!t and so excited to get married!

I'm just not a morning person I work the overnight shift so I'm usually getting for bed around that time. Lol. I guess we just have to figure out what's most important. I only have 4 bridesmaids and am thinking about doing my own hair. I not big on makeup either but will get it done professionally.

I'm having a Sunday evening wedding 5-10:30pm and not a single person has said they had a problem with it. I'm not a morning person so 12-5 would NEVER EVER work for me lol I can picture the attitude in all my pics LOL. However, do what is most convenient pricewise for you and FH don't worry about anyone else. It's your day, your terms, and whoever has a problem can stay home.

My FH's best friends are actually getting married at Jerricho Terrace on a Saturday afternoon wedding next September and they are really excited about it! That's about all I can offer but I think a Sunday afternoon wedding would be just great :)

That's not always the case depending on who you have for hair and makeup. my ceremony is at 12 and we have to be ready by 11. 9 females in total getting hair 7 getting makeup and I was able to choose between having 2 hair dressers/makeup artists and have a 5 am start or have a third with a 7am start. So naturally I chose the 7am. But are cocktail hour doesn't start until 3 so we could do pictures in between...

Good luck :)
