OK, so I do not have pierced ears and the earrings that I want to wear for my wedding were my grandmothers and are pierced. I have a big phobia of needles!!!! Has anyone done this as an adult because I know I will be in Claires with a bunch of 5 year olds who will be looking at the grown up lady who is crying in the corner! Help

Re: Earring Drama
You don't necessarily have to do the piercing at Claire's, you can find some jewlery stores that have a private room where they pierce ears
Its not that bad, i used to have 3 piercings in each ear!

mTa... i am laughing not at you but at the scene you painted
I dont have pierce ears & had to have me w-erring specially made.
try Norstrdms in Roosevelt field, they have some nice clips. Or if you find ones one line, ask if they can custom make to clip
next option if u want pierce, go to claires during the week when the 5yrs are in school
hope this helps

I'm a big baby, and it's really not that bad... (although, i did get my tongue pierced way back when...) ha ha... THAT hurt... Ears, NO biggie! I think you'll be ok.
ask them to spray with that cold stuff that numbs them...
it's over in 2 seconds... good luck!!!

Thanks girls! Oh you brave people with multiple piercings! I will hopefully brave the needle in the next week! Actually, my 6 year old neice called me a wimp, so I need to prove her wrong

I have 8 all together and I had no problem with it. It depends I guess on your pain tolerance. At Claires they dont use a single needle, they use the gun. Which probably doesnt sound much better. But it lasts for like 2 seconds. Just make sure you dont do it too close to your wedding. b/c they will definately make you keep the studs they give you, in for like a month or so. Good luck with your decision!

Like the others say. It is just a pinch. Trust me...I am afraid of needles too but I really didn't mind it. I even went back for seconds!

Its not bad at all, you don't even see what they are doing!
I would definitely recommend doing it soon. You need to keep the pair that they put in for about a month.

Re: Earring Drama
I have my ears pierced, twice, and it was a sinch. Nothign to fret about at all! You barely even feel it!
You could always store ice cubes in your back pocket and whip them out and try to numb your lobes before they go in

DOn't know if this will help or not....way back when when I got it done as a child I thought it hurt (but I am a huge wimp), then in college I got one in my upper ear lobe (where it is supposed to hurt more) and I don't remember it hurting soooo just think a few seconds and it's over and it isn't too bad! Good Luck!

Re: Earring Drama
And think about how much clip-ons hurt! Once you undergo the fleeting pain of the piercing, you'll enjoy wearing earrings so much more. Once you've had them for a while, you won't even know they're in your ears!

Re: Earring Drama
They can do both ears at the same time. Some of my friends daughters are just at the age where they are getting it done. They do a really good job of distracting them and then boom, one pinch and it's over. I would just ask them to do whatever they do for the little ones. I'm being serious.
Wow, clip on always hurt me so much more. I had to wear them when I wore a pair of fairly large pearls so they wouldn't droop. My ear hurt for two days later.

It is not bad at all, but be sure to do it soon so they have plenty of time to heal before the wedding.

Re: Earring Drama
I had gotten my ears pierced when I was little, but the holes eventually closed up so I got them done again about 2 years ago. Like everyone's been saying, it really isn't bad. I can think of a million things that hurt way more and that women get done all the time (ie. bikini waxing). And just think, even if you think it might hurt reeeally bad for a second, it's just that... a second. After it's done your horizons will be expanded into the wonderful and exciting world of non-clip on earrings. Good luck!

You girls are great! I am going to do it. I will let you know how it goes. FI says he will get me drunk before to calm my nerves!
