East Wind and hotels?

East Wind and hotels?

Hi girls,

For all the brides who are getting married at East Wind, where did you block rooms for your wedding? East wind is too expensive and the hotels they recommended to me are pretty expensive also. The cheapest one I have found so far is the hampton inn for $150. Hotels I have found with shuttles are at least $200 and they only provide one round trip for my guests (which will not be enough). Does anyone have any recommendations for hotels? or shuttles?

Thanks!

I donno...maybe try the new Holiday Inn in Riverhead?

I decided not to worry about a hotel for my guests...I was going to block off a few rooms just in case but then I found out you are responsible to pay for the rooms if they are not booked up by your guests.

Most of my guests are not out of state and the ones who are will most likely stay with family so I have no idea if they would book or not! I just really wanted some rooms for my friends but I cannot worry about it!

The Hilton Garden Inn is 270 a night and a 2 night minimum during the summer, so it is ridiculous.

Just yesterday I passed a motel not too far from East Wind. I have no clue if it's sketchy, clean or not...but you might want to check it out. I think it was called the Wading River Motel.

The only other ones I know out there are the Holiday Inn and Best Western

I don't think I would trust more than the new Holiday Inn. There really is no other option. I don't believe that they charge if the rooms are not used up. I wasn't charged for the express. Also, people can get a disc rate-aaa or senior, etc. I would not wait though.
Also try Wayne at Lindsey in Islandia. He worked with me and provided reliable service.

I got good quotes for my 12/12/09 wedding from both the Best Western ($119/night) and the Hilton Garden Inn ($99). Does anyone know about either?
