I am so upset... we have our hearts set on the Inn at East Wind- South Hampton side with the staircases- we love everything about it- heard great things- tasted some food at a show- then the worst thing happened... friends of our went to a wedding at the estate 2 weeks ago & said the food was HORRIBLE. That they think they got food poisoning! What do I do! Now they are all talking about the fact that WE want to get married there but the food was soooooo bad!! HELP! What do I do?
Go to east wind and ask them if you can do a food tasting when there is a wedding going on.

I'm sure almost every hall has had Some negative reviews at some point. If that is where your heart is set I would still say do it! I have been to 3 weddings there andthey were beautiful and the food was great! Don't let it get ya down....everyone' s experiences are different. Good Luck!

don't get upset. i been to a wedding last april at eastwinds in the room you and fh want. it was awsome. the food was great. no-one got sick. how many people got sick one or two maybe the food didn't agree with there bellys.doesn't mean they got food poisioning. i wouldn't worry about it. always remeber some people say things because there jealous or they just want to see you panic.. don't worry if you both love it go for it.good luck

It must be a fluke(spelling). I have been there many times and the food has always been out of this world.

That's only one couple. Everybody's body reacts differently to different foods. I have read nothing but GREAT reviews on here about East Wind. This may have just been an isolated incident. I would definetly ask for a food tasing during another wedding-explain the situation.

Ummmmmm...I had a tasting at East WInd and I have also been to several Bridal Expos along with FH, my parents, his parents and one of my BMs. Out of all 7 of us, not one has ever gotten sick! The food there is amazing and this is the first negative post I have ever read.

Re: East Wind.... bad news.
Have a tasting at the hall and ignore what they said about the food....go there with an open mind.
I booked Douglaston Manor and FH's aunt promptly told FMIL that she was there a few years ago and she didn't like the food. So, at first this gave me anxiety, but then I realized this was the only hall that FH & I both agreed that we loved! And than I found out that as of this year they're under new ownership- which I made it a point to tell FH's aunt, in case she felt the need to tell the whole family she didn't like the food- have to stop those rumors before they start!! We're tasting the food tomorrow...I can't wait!
Bottom line is, there's always going to be 1 or 2 people that have something negative to say...but if YOU like the hall...go for it!! Good luck to you!

I've never heard anything negative about the East Wind. I've been to a wedding there and my parents have been to at least 5 weddings there and there have always been rave reviews!!! I say, if you love the place, then go for it!!!

My FSIL had her reception at East Wind. The food was great and they had an amazing cocktail hour.
I think every place is going to have a bad review, no place is perfect all the time!

Re: East Wind.... bad news.
I was there in december for my husbands christmas party and I have to tell you DH is very hard to impress and East Wind did it. The food and service was just unbelievable. It was one of the best times we've had. It could've been a fluke. Def. do a tasting.

Food poisoning= Hangover.
I'd be almost positive of that. The symptoms are rather similar.
I wouldn't worry. East Wind is supposed to be very nice.

I've been there and many of my friends have been to weddings there. They have nothing but GREAT things to say about the food. That's all they would talk about , was how good it was! That's one of the reasons we chose East Wind....

I agree, people can get nasty stomach problems after only a few drinks that can be miscontrued with food poisening...

Re: East Wind.... bad news.
i went to a wedding there this past june and the food was plentiful and delicious. no complaints from me, FH, the couple, or any of our friends that went there. sorry you heard some bad stuff from one person but seriously no matter where you book you'll hear SOMETHING bad so just try to focus on the reasons you chose the place in the first place.

i always see great reviews for EW! Dont give up so easily. I say go there talk to your BM and tell them what happend and maybe just maybe they will give you a food tasting or hell throw some extras in! We had our prom there and the food was great! (yrs ago but still) and also my friends wedding was in the Country Gardens and i must say we were sooooo impressed!! All in all just dont let 1 bad review make you run away!!!

I went to a wedding at East Wind and had a fantastic time! Not only is it BEAUTIFUL, but the food is very tasty too!
Like everyone else says... you will ALWAYS have some naysayers! I mean, you can get married at the most beautiful location ever and be served a gourmet meal cooked by Emeril or Bobby Flay or whomever ... and some people will still say 'the chicken was dry, the meat was raw...' Negativity can be found anywhere.
