No, I ordered my invites through Lion in the Sun in Huntington on Main Street. Sorry.

Do I need an appointment to see the place?

I have never been there and need to know the availability for next summer.

I am going to out east for work tomorrow and I don't want to wait till the expo in Oct to see it.

Mom called JACOB about the blocking situation we were having... some issues with a confirmation never sent and rooms not be alloted...WELL she said he is now like her best friend and would do anything for her... such a nice guy i guess. Call and ask for JACOB I guess he is great if you ask my mom

that stinks...I wonder why you need to book a lobby time with someone different? Who was your BM?

As much as I like EW, I am finding the Inn a bit difficult to work with. The 50% deposit for blocking is ludicrous!

My BM is John. He told me that I needed to make arrangements to take pictures in the lobby but he didn't say when I should do it. I didn't get this three page thingy that everyone else is talking about. I think I might call John and see why I'm having such a hard time. I have a payment due in October. Maybe I'll make an appointment with him then and we'll meet in person instead of me mailing it in. Is that what you girls do?

Yes, just call them up and make an appt. They are very accomodating. I told them I was coming out there from Queens and they saw me on a Sunday, just a few hours before they were having a showcase! I know they were really busy and all, but it was the only day I could do and they gave me no problems over it. They were very nice. Even if you end up looking at it beforehand, you should still consider going to the showcase so you can taste the food.

Re: East Wind Brides

I called the Best Western yesterday, and although it's not as convenient, I think we may block rooms there. We're very upset w/ hainvg to leave a 50% deposit, and then our guests having to leave one as well. We're all be playing full price (WITH INTEREST) on a service we're not using for another 9 months or so!

At the Best Western, there is no deposit, and if you can't fill your bloch, they just release the rooms - no charge. Does anyone know exactly how far it is? Is it nice? We may have to go down this weekend to check it out.

We can't ask the guest for the $$ upfront. I can almost get over paying the 50% deposit myself, but then to ask my guests to do the same is insane. Can anyone shed some light on this blocking nightmare?

The Best Western actually is a pretty nice hotel. We used to have meetings there weekly for our business, and I looked around the hotel and it's pretty nice. We'll probably block some rooms there as well as at the East Winds...which it is totally annoying to have to pay so much up front. Most of the people for us coming from out of state are family, so we're just going to call them and tell them what the options are so that they can pick and it won't be awkward. It's a crazy amount of money to pay upfront!

The Best Western offers a 14 passenger shuttle for your guests if you book 15 or more rooms. I spoke to the girls there and the shuttle can be upgraded for an additional fee.

we mentioned it in conversation-about paying upfront and those who are close to me and want to stay there want to pay the 50% upfront cause then it is less at one time, so they were fine with it, if you mention it they may offer to want to pay it

We did wind up checking out the Best Western and it was closer and nicer than what I thought. We're trying poll the guests (the BP really) to see what their thoughts are, but everyone just keeps telling us to block EW. We sent an email today to the BP asking them to just commit verbally for now to ensure we can fill at least 10 rooms. If not, we'll blcock at the Best Western.

Re: East Wind Brides

Just to let you guys know, if you block the rooms and can't fill all 10, EW will give you a full refund if you let them know ahead of time how many rooms are left and they can fill them. Thats what I was told anyway.
