I was wondering if any of your guests are going to be staying at the East Wind the night of your wedding. I know they can do the room block but I just feel like it is so much money. Are there any other hotels around? Also, do you know if any of the other hotels do a free shuttle? Thanks!

Re: East Wind Brides
We have a bunch of OOTers so we will have people staying there. It is kind of pricey though. The thing that's really annoying is that you have to pay a 10% deposit of every room in your block and if they don't book you lose your money I even asked if we were like 6 months out and I wanted to cancel the block because it wasn't filling if we could get our deposit back and they said not unless the rooms book. It's a big gamble. Also they will only let you book a limited amount of rooms. We will need to get another block elsewhere as well.
As for other hotels in the area:
Hotel Indigo (haven't spoken with them yet) Holiday Inn Express (will give one free 14 passenger shuttle if you book 15 rooms-which doesn't make any sense because if you have 15 rooms you will likely have 30+ people... Sounds like a scam to me! lol The woman I spoke with said you could reserve extra shuttles for a couple hundred dollars... Hilton Garden Inn- $300 for one shuttle and $500 for two shuttles. Hyatt Place (have not spoken with them yet either)
Those are the only ones I can think of in that area. FM me if you want exact prices I've gotten from places or any more info!

Re: East Wind Brides
same as crisy 211 just said...it is a bit expensive, but guests also get a breakfast in the morning, at least i know they do that on sundays...but I agree ...what was the rate you got for the hotel for a night stay?
We are probably doing the holiday inn in riverhead, going to try and negotiate the shuttle thing, but they do not require any type of down payment or penalties for not booking a certain amount of rooms which is nice.

They told us the breakfast was additional...hmmm. I was told the price of the breakfast for Sunday and then they said it was like half that for a Saturday. I forget what they said the breakfast charge was though. The rate they gave us for rooms was in the mid 200 range. (I have it written down at home and can check for you later!) It's much cheaper if you have a Sunday wedding (I think it's $129 per room for Sunday night).

Re: East Wind Brides
We were quoted at $199 a night at East Wind. I would have to block at least 5 rooms. I would also have to put down 10%. I'm going to check into the other hotels you listed and see what they say.

Re: East Wind Brides
I am quoted at $179 for a Sat night but I think bc I am getting married in March, it is cheaper. Should your guests book, you will get your deposit back. I have 15 room booked lready and the STDs arent out so Im not too worried.
No one else has a free shuttle. That 14 person shuttle (even if you have 800 rooms booked) only makes one run there and one run back. I couldn't believe it. You are giving them potentially a bunch of business (esp me in March when they have NOTHING else going on) and they cant at least make additional trips. EW is literally 10 minutes away from them.
We have an additional block with Hilton Garden Inn and IDK what we are doing about transportation yet. I told FH it's not worth worrying about right now. If we see a bunch of rooms book, maybe we'll spring for the shuttle.

O wow, prices are way better in March! I know, that 14 passenger shuttle is so ridiculous! A post above mentioned breakfast is included for guests at East Wind. Did they mention that to you?

Re: East Wind Brides
They never told me that breakfast was included. Whenever I went there I went there with no questions because I didn't know what to ask. Now I am kicking myself because I feel like I could have gotten a lot more if I would've just asked.

Re: East Wind Brides
No mention of a free breakfast. I know they have Sunday buffets which is why we are encouraging everyone to book to continue the festivities but they def didn't throw that in for free! We also didn't think to ask honestly. FH was worried about getting the best suite. They did comp us an upgraded suite, not the Ambassador, that was already taken. I think the parlour suite.

East Wind Brides
I'm using Hyatt Place( I'm also getting married there). The rooms are expensive but I didn't need to put anything down to block the rooms. Plus they are really nice and big. I'm sure most of my friends will end up sharing. Breakfast is included too!

Hyatt Place is a bit farther away from EW, I would say 20-25 minutes from EW. For me, at that point, what a hotel worth unless there is a free shuttle.

Re: East Wind Brides
We blocked out rooms at the east wind and our wedding is a Sunday night in July, i think its $129 a night. We have a lot of OOT guests plus a lot of friends and family who intend on staying the nightso I'm concerned we won't have enough rooms at east wind! We already have guests booking their rooms and it's over a year away lol so the one thing i'm not worried about is losing any money over the 10% we had to put down to hold the rooms....
We have an additional block at the Hilton Garden Inn in Riverhead. the rooms were actually the same price there as the east wind for that night, maybe because it's July. We didn't want to pay for their shuttle because it's $300 for one shuttle to go back and forth only one time and it only seats something like 15 people. I think it might be a better deal to hire a cheap party bus if we have a lot of rooms booked there, or if it's just a few maybe just pay for cabs to pick them up and drop them back off.
It didn't seem like any hotels out east had a good deal for a free shuttle or anything like that. Being my wedding is in July that's pretty much what i expected. It's prime time for the east end they are very busy and aren't giving out anything free because frankly they just don't have to lol at least that's the vibe I got from the hotels.
