I went to a wedding there a few months ago. I loved it and I loved the food. If it would have been closer, I'd probably consider it to have mine there. Great Choice !!!I will bump the thread where I posted a review on this.

Re: East Wind Food
I posted this on a wedding that I went in July at the East Wind...........I went to a wedding this past July 2004 at East Wind on a Saturday night. As we pulled inside the venue in our truck, they had someone asking which reception we were going to(so I gather they have more than one) and they pointed us to which ballroom to go to. As we arrived at the main entrance of the South Grand Ballroom for Valet parking, the person in charge asked us if we were staying overnight. I guess this is common since they have an INN in premises and also because it is not very close, many people probably prefer to stay overnight that way they can really drink and not have to worry. We didn’t stay overnight and the gentleman was very poised and nice. He took our truck and we proceed to come in. They had two gentlemen announcing their guests and playing trumpets. I thought this was really cute. As we proceeded into the building, I fell in love with the ambiance and the elegance of the place. They had another staff letting us know where the Cocktail Hour was going to be. The food at the Cocktail hour was delicious and they had a lot of variety. The mussels and stuffed baked clams were delicious, the pasta was incredibly tasty and the cold stations and the fruits were fresh and delicious. There was plenty of space to sit at the CH, which I thought was great. The staff was very cordial and removed the empty plates from the tables very quickly. We were then advised that the reception was going to start. The room was setup so beautiful. The bride had a mix of tall and low centerpieces of roses that looked amazing. I thought that was a great idea and it looked very pretty plus it will save some $$$ as well. I wasn’t too crazy about the layout of the room because I felt all the guests were really away from the Bride and the Groom. The wait staff never asked us if we wanted drinks and they removed the places for the food but for the drinks, I had all the glasses with the drinks that we had on the table. And also, another bride to be from here wanted to know if there were more than two bartenders and there were two of them and only one bar at this room. And also, the bartenders had the bowl for the tips out which didn’t bother me but I think a bride to be for LIW wanted to know if they do that. For the reception, the food was very tasty as well. I had the salmon, which, was delicious and my FH had the beef, which was really delicious and tender. If I had seen this place before I booked mine and it wasn’t so far and the layout of the room was different and I’ve liked it, I’d probably booked this venue for my own wedding. It was really nice. The brides to be that are getting married have nothing to worry about. It was sure a nice place to have a beautiful wedding.
Hope this review was helpful and Congrats to all of the ladies that are getting married there. Now if any of the ladies from LIW wants to invite me to their wedding so that I can give a lengthy review from a guest’s point of view, Ask Away!!!

Re: East Wind Food
I had my wedding at the East Wind and the food is great. Before the wedding I went to three different showcases (2 at the Estate and 1 at the Inn) for some reason the food was much better at the Estate showcases than the Inn showcase. I think it may have been since it was just after the Inn opened and it was the first showcase they held there. The food is great and there is plenty of it!

We got married at East Wind, the food was amazing! Everyone is still talking about how great it is. One couple (who travels around and has been to a number of functions. weddings, etc) said to my Aunt it was the best cocktail hour and dinner they have EVER seen!

I honestly wasn't too pleased with the food at the showcase in the Inn. I was pretty disappointed, actually. But when we had our tasting I thought the food was great!
Hey... if you ladies who got married at East Wind have a review posted, please send it to me! Thanks!

Re: East Wind Food
You should sample the food for yourself and decide for yourself (in addition to getting opinions here). You read all the time that so and so told me it was the best CH or best reception ever - ever think that person is not being 100% honest or says that at every function- so you just have to take everything with a grain of salt. As long as you feel comfortable with it (whether it's food, limos, music, etc) and are happy with the quality you'll be much better off. With that said, the last two years have been nuts as I've attended way too many weddings (some in NY, and a few out of state in NJ, CT and VA). I've been to one wedding at The East Wind. The main hotel I guess is absolutely gorgeous and very impressive. I didn't see that piece until two weeks after the wedding when I drove by for something else. I was not impressed with the food at all and getting honest opinions from others that attended - were not impressed either. I heard that some really did like it but I would suggest you try it for yourself. Could have been an off night. Could have been the selections of the bride and groom that were a bit off. I would also try the food at a couple other places so you have something to compare.

Re: East Wind Food
I've been to 2 showcases at East Wind and I loved the food. I also brought my mom who was very impressed. I agree with another bride that it's probably best to try it yourself b/c everyone differs. For example, I found the turkey at the carving station a bit salty, but my mom loved it. So everyone has their own preferences. But, I love the place and can't wait for my wedding there. Also, if you go to their website (eastwindcaterers.com) they inform you of any upcoming showcases where you get to try some food.
Lots of luck

Re: East Wind Food
I would sample it yourself at a showcase or tasting BEFORE booking . . . I almost booked and then decided to taste the food. I don't want to offend anyone but I wasn't pleased and did not book because of it . . . perhaps it is a hit or miss situation . . .Welcome New Vendors
