East Wind or Westbury Manor

Hi everyone! First let me thank you for even opening and offering your help.

OK so mom and dad are paying for wedding. I was never the type of girl to dream about my wedding day, I skip to the honeymoon all the time.

I have told my parents that they can choose where the reception will be. Only because I really can't decide and neither can my Zepp.

OK so
Westbury Manor
or
East Wind

Please help ASAP

LADIES YOUR THE BEST!

EW hands down. But, I will say, just as I have to ther brides, if you can't decide between two or more choices, than none of them are for you and keep looking.

East Wind gets my vote

Have you & FH personally looked at these places? Even though your parents are paying, which is fantastic, I would still do a plus and minus of each place and then decide.

Good Luck

We went to a wedding at East Wind and it was gorgeous, but it is really far out if you have a lot of guests coming that aren't from LI (with traffic it took us 2hrs to get there from manhattan). Just something to think about. I have never been to Westbury Manor

Absolutely the Westbury Manor - you get treated so well there .. and if you want an outdoor cocktail hour you cant beat what they offer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would suggest Westbury Manor.

It depends a lot on where you live, where you are having your ceremony, where the majority of your guests are coming from, etc.

My vote is East Wind

I looked at both and booked with East Wind!

however there are many things you need to take into consideration... where are people coming from (I had people coming from CT and still booked EW cause it is where I fell in love, but you may want to be nicer than I was hehehehe) But, MOST of the guests who were OOT stayed over- took ferries to the wedding and drove home- it worked out perfectly fine- it was about a 2 hour drive to CT which is not so bad at all!

The atmosphere in the places is different... which do you prefer... when you walk in to both places, where do you get more of a 'feeling'

The food- taste both- I preferred EW, but everyone has a different taste for things...At WM when I went to look, they brought me out samples... EW I went to the showcases where they have a lot of food to choose from

Service is impeccable at EW, I dont know about WM since I have not been to a wedding there.

If you are at the estate at ew, like I was, you cant beat the cocktail hour rooms- they are gorgeous...they have three rooms-but all together, so you you can see everyone (basically) the outdoor garden is beautiful! the selection they have to choose from is unbelievable. We had some upgrades, but even without them, they had so much to choose from!

My vote if for East Wind for obvious reasons but I have never been to Westbury Manor.

Some things I liked about East Wind were the different style of places you could have your reception- for us, the Estate met what we were looking for. But there is also the Inn and there is also the Country Gardens- both beautiful as well.

Also, we have a good amount of people coming from out of town, but a ton of people are local too. Our family and friends like to party, so we booked rooms at the Inn so everyone could have a good time and not worry abour driving home afterwards.

I also like the fact that EW is sort of 'out of the way' out east.

Good luck!

I really like both. I went to a wedding at Westbury Manor in April and really liked it more than I expected. The food and service was perfect!

I prefer the setting at East Wind but it is REALLY far. I almost booked East Wind but FH and I decided it was too far for our guests.

I suppose if it's not too far for your guests I would go with East Wind. If it is too far, then Westbury Manor is a great alternative.
Good luck

I've been to weddings at both locations and both are stunning.

I see you're getting married in November. Both gardens of each facility are gorgeous and offer different garden like photos.

If most of your guests are coming from Nassau, Queens, etc, I'd say Westbury Manor for convenience. If elsewhere, then East Wind. Two friends got married at East Wind at Country Gardens and the outside lights were spectacular at night for photos. I've only been to Westbury Manor for an afternoon wedding, and everything was in bloom, bright, etc. I don't think either facility is a bad choice.

Okay, I guess I'm no help!

Well, I have not been to EW since they did the renovations years ago, but I remember the wedding I went to there was very nice.

Westbury Manor was absolutely amazing for my wedding. From the moment we walked in for the first time to the moment we left as husband and wife their service was never less than outstanding. Everytime I had a question or concern they addressed it promptly and professionally.
Our wedding was spectacular, and the service was incredible. I keep wishing someone I know would have a wedding there so I could go back as a guest!

Anyway, which do you get a 'feeling' from? You also might want to consider proximity for your guests. EW is very out of the way, not close to any major highways. WM is very accessible.

My sister is getting married in february at Westbury Manor, I am very excited to go because of all the great reviews...if you really can not decide, think about your guests and where they are located. Hopefully that will help you.

even tho westbury manor is small (the cocktail is so small) the outside for the cocktail hour is nice, but when i went to a wedding there, it was horrible weather, so the bride couldnt have it outiside. its very small. and the wedding me my DH went to, they sat like 16-18 people at one table and we were very cramped. the food WAS GOOD though! i just hated the fact that they couldnt wait to take ur plate.

east wind looks nice though. never been there for a wedding, but the scenery looks GOREGOYS for pix. westbury manor, from what i saw, doesnt have that mmuch sceenery .. .but maybe i didnt think so causeit was raining for my DH's cousins wedding.

i think if u had a choice between the two, i would pick east wind.

but i also think u need to decide even tho ur parents are paying for it. theres so many nice places out there, as well.

my parents paid for the whole wedding, nd i told them i wanted it at villa lombardis. . . ever since i was a lil girl . . . and by golly, i had it at villa!

I don't know anything about East Wind, but I can tell you our experience with Westbury Manor was perfect. If you choose WM, you will have no worries.

Im gonig to have to go with East Wind. It's the only place that we went o that actually stood out fromt he res of teh reception halls we looked at. It just seems like they go extremely out of their way to do whatever you want. The grounds are gorgeous! And they also give the bride and groom a free hotel stay the night of the wedding. Cant beat that!

Why don't you just see both and see what you like? Obviously, you are going to get opinions for both places. They are both nice. I am biased because I got married at Westbury Manor. It also matters if you live in Suffolk or Nassau.
